fuck facebook.... in the face!

Dammit to hell....you took the words right out of my mouth! Gotta be quick on the draw at the old IC corral.....
Nice shootin' Tex.

Facebook is for pedophiles, goofballs, losers, teeny-boppers and grandparents.
You can keep every single digital byte and bit of that sh*t.

I agree with most of what has been said about facebook nothing good ever came of it. You have family young and old plus friends reading what you have to say. Certain parts of your life are not meant to be for all to see. I dont want want my 10 year old nephew knowing about IC Mag. Plus its a total security risk.

I give him no more credit than i would a millionaire dropping a quarter into the palm of a homeless person.

FYI Madrus, Mark Zuckerberg makes $1,541,095.00 - PER HOUR.

Which is $25,684.00 - PER MINUTE.

So, Mark literally gave 6 minutes and 30 some odd seconds of his 1,440 minute a day earnings to the cause. 6 minutes to earn 170k - So when he drops 170k, it's literally the 1 penny that he left at the counter in the store because the total was $4.99, and he didn't feel like waiting for grandma to scoop it out the register. He doesn't even feel it, won't even know it was spent, except when he does a Vanity Google of his name and see's where it is mentioned.

I gave more money to Norman Lubow (Reverend Bud) as a $5 donation, when i was 15 and he was buying my 1/8th of Northern Lights for me and asking for donations so he could throw rallies at Federal buildings and toss joints to the people, than Mark Zuckberg has ever given when it comes to time versus time and earnings.

Heck, anyone stopping on the street in their city and putting a $5 dollar bill under the head of a sleeping homeless person is sacrificing more of their personal wealthy to help another human than Mark will ever choose to do for the cannabis cause.

If i had his money i would give 10%. Period.

If you give and don't feel it, then you didn't give a thing because sacrifice for others is caring and that does have a cost you feel when you give. What he did well...More like "look at me, i am so ultra liberal, so forward thinking, so open minded".

Why do you have to feel it for it to matter? Just cause the guy has a ridiculous amount of money doesnt entitle him to give 10% of anything to any organization. And i use facebook to keep intouch with people who otherwise i wouldnt be able too. guess im just one of those fools that is being watched by the CIA because they give a damn about what im doing on a daily basis. But good job hating for no other reason than to hate...i just dont understand why some of us are so close minded. Change is good for some of us, sucks for "some" of the older generation that want to hold on to the past. oh and you dont have to rip me in a reply if ive said anything you dont like. there was just too much negativity and ridiculousness in this thread...enjoy your day all and watch out for the CIA cause there always watching!
oh and 5 dollars means nothing to anyone over 10 years old now a days...

Oh and i love IC mag if i had to pick, i would pick IC mag because i spend most of my online time here. This site means so much to me and countless others... i would be lost without it!

faceboook has become almost like a necessity for many
its how people connect and talk to each other, its replaced email for a lot of people.

there are positive and negatives about facebook, all depends how you are looking at it

people who love facebook, love that they can chat to their friends and see what they are doing. people want to share what they are doing, they want to share their pictures with friends and family for numerous reasons. you can also add people you meet in real life or online as a friend and begin sharing pictures and messages with them as well. Some use it for business. Lots of people, lots of business potential. The social networking thing really started as a way for un heard un signed bands could get some exposure and "air net time".
I know a friend that started off with myspace before it even got big, they were very small, before they launched their aggressive email campaigns to get people to join..that was a new thing too btw...but that was the game, get indie bands exposure and it just took off from there...now everyone and their mom, every business, every music artist has one.. so is much positive to gain from this and this is why there is rarely ever any question about its safety or problems with it..

I have met cool people online and actually meet up in real life and become real friends but....

I dont have a facebook

here is why

I dont trip about the CIA trying to check out our shit, no reason to worry about that...

not everyone does this but my beef seems to be with the lax attitude about posting such personal information available for everyone to see. some will argue that they put their profile on private, only friends and family can see, then its up to that person to have common sense what they put..some argue that the information is mined by facebook and then key info is then formulated, re packaged and sold to advertisers. I know this to be a fact because they did this at myspace and that was how myspace was bought out by rupert murdoch's news corp...it was a valuable company because of its data mining, thats it..

I dont want or expect people to paranoid...just to be aware of it would be a nice thought..
I don't think people are aware to the extend or even care lol...so I guess neither do I.

here is what happens every time I get a stick up my ass about "reconnecting" with old and new friends online. I get a facebook..spend a little bit of time going through all this personal information and preferences I can input into the fields all while remaining "completely PRIVATE" ;) ;)...I then spend a few hours using the stalker search engine to locate people...its crazy how easy it is to find people...so I find them, initiate contact, add them friend..only to realize, why the hell did I reconnect with these jack asses?? I mean if I wanted to connect, I wouldn't have deleted your numbers or stopped hanging out with yal. so thats what happens, and is why i dont have facebook...its cool if you want one, i dont hate, i just dont have one, dont hate lol...if you want to find me, find me the traditional way..its harder and from what I hear more rewarding

No facebook here if someone needs to get ahold of me they have my number, and if they don't have my number more than likely I'd rather not talk to them. :)

oh and 5 dollars means nothing to anyone over 10 years old now a days...

#1 - You evidently do not know the gift of giving.

#2 - I never said money 'entitled' (wrong word by the way)to give 10% - i said *I WOULD* because that is how i roll.

#3 - Um. lolwut? Do you know ANY poor people? Where i live, people buy and sell cigarettes for 0.25 to 0.50 a pop, out their front door, and often times are scraping and clawing to get $5 just so they can get a nickel-bag of funk - yes nickel-bags exist, and some people - quite a few on the east side of my town actually - have to save money over a few days just to get $5.00.

So must be nice not worrying about $5 - i know, i still do.

And as far as ridiculousness goes - Praising that idiot Mark Z. for tossing out the financial equivalent of a penny (compared to his daily or hour earnings) to an organization, is the epitome of ridiculousness.

I actually grasp the idea of a BILLION dollars and realize immediately, than 1 BILLION of his 13 BILLION - is 999 million more than i will ever need in my life. So kissing off 10% of said earnings would really be the very least i could do, and the very least of my concerns.

1 million = heaven. 13 billion = personality rewrite of my core and death of what i am and where i was going.

Edit to add: Oh, yes MARK ZUCKBERG, AKA "M. LINDEN" the Ex-CEO (canned) from Second Life virtual world the great squasher or pornography and protector of our children. Digital representations, not real people porn = bad, Pot = good. Go figure. I knew there was another reason i did not like that guy. LOL!

talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth!!!!!!!! do you not realize that you are not entitled to anything in this life?
He did not have to give anything at all but did.so shut your spoiled trap or say thank you.Your like the spoiled little girl who asks for a bike for christmas and then complains that it's not a red bike when you get it.So tired of this b.s. your really one to talk about a me me me mentality

this isn't about the pro's & con's of Facebook, its about IC's presence there
as stated we have no link to face book nor do we intend to in the future
so please stop the crap arguments about the good & bad points of facebook, its just another form
of communicating over the net and its up to individual's to choose if they want to use it or not

wouldn't trust Farcebook at all & be aware ...large sites like this esp "social networking" sites attract hackers with their trojans & pernicious scareware like flies to shyte and they're very clever .

New scareware spreading worldwide...25 Feb 2011

One of the most widespread and dangerous pieces of scareware circulating the web is AntiVira AV, according to Web Wire.

One of the most widespread and dangerous pieces of scareware circulating the web is AntiVira AV, according to Web Wire.

AntiVira AV mimics a legitimate antivirus program and embeds itself into a users’ computer. Computers can become infected by browsing unsafe websites and downloading video codec to watch movies.

The infection can also occur through Facebook and Twitter and will bombard the victim with fake pop-ups and security alerts designed to scare them into making some type of purchase. AntiVira AV does not only make money for the virus’ designers, but also contains keyloggers to record sensitive data, such as passwords, bank information and Social Security numbers.

The virus can be removed by legitimate spyware removal programs, reformatting the hard drive or removing it manually.

“The longer this infection remains on a computer, the greater the chance of identity theft for the user,” writes Web Wire’s Jimmy Walker.

A recent report from an online security company found that virus writing has evolved to organized crime factions generating millions of dollars. The report also found that botnets will continue to pose a dangerous threat to mobile phones and internet-enabled applications.

Clever Scareware Scam Spreads Across Facebook
http://www.esecurityplanet.com/tren...er-Scareware-Scam-Spreads-Across-Facebook.htm

A massive scareware scam has been targeting Facebook users over the past two days, in which a fake virus warning is distributed via e-mail and then forwarded or published to thousands of Facebook walls, according to researchers at security software vendor Panda Security.

Facebook and other social networking sites have provided a fertile field for hackers and malware purveyors to do ply their trade. Not surprisingly, the level of sophistication and clever tactics used to hoodwink Internet users continues to escalate on an almost daily basis.

In a blog posting Thursday, PandaLabs researchers begrudgingly admitted that whoever conjured up this latest scareware scam was smarter and more creative than most.
The unsolicited warning delivered through e-mail accounts and then posted on Facebook asks users if their Facebook has "been running slow lately" and directs recipients to click on their Settings link and check to see if there's something called "unnamed app" in their application settings.
