Ice and Aurora Indica and their odors??

Hi I have 2 Ice and 2 AI going into 2nd week of flower.

On another thread a grower was going on about how smelly his Ice plant was. Is this a phenotype issue?

Do all/most Ice have a strong odor?

(3:1 or 1:2:1 genetic expresssion either way, if that is the way to ask that question. I read the sticky on breeding)

Or is odor a function, or partly a function, of how you grow? Nutes, soil vs hydro, etc. etc.

What is the experience of those of you who have actually grown Ice out?

And I would ask the same questions of experienced AI growers if I may?

When growing Ice it was next to cali orange, which doesn't have much smell when growing, and it was stronger....that isn't saying much. It is alot stronger when cut, pretty mild overall compared to most, but that's subjective...you still need odor control, I get the sense that is your real question.

When buds were taken to another place where it wasn't being grown out, it took 4 hours with housefans blasting and open windows to finally get rid of the smell, which was very intense. 2 phenos: 1 skunky, hashy, coffee, mint. 2nd skunky, cherry, piney. This was Nirvana Ice. No experience with AI.

Odor doesn't affect my methods at all, IMO it shouldn't, but does affect how often I replace carbon.

Yes, odor control is my concern. I have a carbon filter going and it is working...so far. I can take the buds someplace else to dry and cure if necessary...and it could be necessary it appears.

Seeds came from BuyDutchSeeds. One of my Ice plants is tall and lanky, the other is shorter.

The AI is not an overwelming odor producer, or at least the pheno I have is not.

When I had aurora indica even in veg with a little 6" cutting it would stink up your whole house. I never kept the mother though but it was def. a good smoke for being nirvana. Not saying nirvana is bad, but I have better luck with other breeders.

Im growing the ice out right now the pheno im running Looks indica dominant (leaf wise) but is very tall (mother in 2 months veg was around 2 1/2 to 3 feet) Im guessing i got a 60/40 indica to sativa ratio.

The smell when taking cuttings was horrible skunky but after that they went bland untill about week 2 of 12/12 where they got alittle skunky and now are on about week 6 of 12/12 with little to no smell at all. They are on the table with WW and it seems like the widow is more indica dominant and will finish probaly a week or so before the ice.

For harvest smoke and all that thi is my first grow with this strain so im not sure.

By the way buydutchseeds.com is like Nirvanaseeds + 40$ lol i know cause thats where i bought these from -=[

Good luck and keep me updated not to many people grow this form of ice (mostly female seeds) and im curouse of how they turn out and compare. Where your seeds small as shit too?

Thanks man for thew info. I see the big difference in price. I bought them before i knew ICMAG exists. They were prompt on delivery though. No complaints on that score.

I also have 10 free seeds with my next order...if I order from them. I still have 5 Ice and 5 AI

The Ice were not small. They looked pretty much like any other seed to me.

I have a grow diary. I will keep you posted. My tall Ice and AI are beginning to develop nice tops. Node areas are doing good too They are about 36" tall now. The 2 shorter ones 1 of each AI and ZIce are about 24" but healthy and coming right along.

sweet i would like to be informed on both your pheno types ill let you know how the smoke is in about 2-3 weeks

and yes they were fast and prompt with my seeds to. seeds were tiny though just weird to me lol.

Ive never grown out ice, but ive done Aurora indica twice, ALL the phenos ive found to smell a lot, any more than 2 growing at a time would be a serious security concern without a carbon filter i reckon.

Thanks for the info. I do have a carbon filter going 24/7. I have 4 plants total. 2 AI and 2Ice. Thanks for info

Ice #2 and AI #2 continue to stretch on day 14 of 12/12. These two were 17(43cm) and 19(48cm) inches tall 2 weeks ago today. Now they are 42" tall.

I hope they don't stretch too much more!!
No smell from either at this early stage.
Look at the near perfection of those fan leaves on Ice #2. Least **I** think they are pretty nice

Berry what pheno of the ice are you running? i think i got like a 60/40 sativa to indica pheno not sure really though i know my moms are 6 feet high and bushy and i got 1 weeks left running two strains and i think for the ice itll be longer then a week but the WW will come out on time.
