yeah it's normal, my kodiak gold ibl is the same way, another thing you'll need to know is they don't stretch much during flowering...i flipped 12/12 at 18 inches and they finished at 20-21 inches, i'm not sure if deep chunk is like that but i would guess it is. but like myst said it will be worth it.

Deep Chunk is worth every second of veg IMHO. THe results are worth it no question.

In my experience DC wants as much nutes and light as possible, and this will help her grow a little faster. But it's not a good idea to start DC from seed with other strains from seed at the same time, and expect to flower them all together.

I have had good success growing DC with LUI, ST#3 and Bubba Kush, as they vegged and stretched at about the same speed.

Just be patient with the DC, she's more than worth it.

did you find the purple pheno in that KG? did you make seeds?

no purple pheno in my 12 pack, but i did make way more then enough seeds from my chosen parents. i guess the traits will carry over even though my parents weren't purple since it's in the lines...so i'm sure i'll have my purple pheno in the seeds i made.

no, some people say that clones even have less vigor than seedplants. Altho IMHO I think they grow at about the same speed, just that seed plants seem to grow thicker/stronger stems. This makes the seedplants better for outdoor use.

But no, they won't realy grow much faster. Altho each time you grow DC you will get better at feeding/etc. so she should do better and better for you as you go.

Deep Chunk doesn't stretch much at all like T2U mentioned with KG, I think the most one has ever stretched for me was about 10-15%.

DC isn't slow just because she's an IBL, but also because it's a pure indica which are slow by nature.

good point there.....

100% indica + IBL = slow growth

It is for breeding purposes or if you absolutely must have a pure breeding strain....some people love a good, pure indica for medical reasons and a lot of people prefer a good landrace sativa for purely recreational reasons :D

IBL doesent sound worth it almost.

Believe me, IBLs are worth every bit of time and $, especialy Deep Chunk.

Also, it should be said that DC excells outside, and doesn't veg nearly as slow as it does inside.

DC like strong light on as much of it's leaves as is possible, including the lower fans. Inside the light levels fall off quite quickly and often grow rooms are too crowded, which shades alot of the lower fans and leaves. Outside the plants have the full power of the sun top to bottom, and often they have much more room.

It's sure nice knowing that every pheno you're growing will be high quality head stash

You cant do proper breeding without them... else you have hybrid mush.... which is what most people are making out there.....

ibls are some of the best strains out there....they are also the building blocks to some of the best strains out there....afghani, skunk, nl, just to name a few play major rolls in alot of strains out today.

these c99 ibl take 2 weeks to hatch in soil,,,

...normally hybrid seeds take us about 48hours

matching the strain to a specific soil type is also important IMO
