Source please.
Thousands of thousands of past and existing cases readily available.

Try any search criteria using any combination of words and "parcel interdiction".........

Mail is one of my areas of expertise.....:smoke:...(extensive experience...)
The documentary I watched was very clear that nothing is screened (other than just the actual act of picking up the box or whatever) from the Post Office onto the plane.
Nothing could be further from the truth......

Actually upon the search of the above keywords, one will find cases in which packages were caught by clerk accepting at USPS,FedEX, and UPS.....

One will find quite a few other cases in which packages grabbed between acceptance and load....

Should also be noted parcel interdiction efforts usually not only include fed, state, county, local and postal inspectors, but also national guard..

(Again....smaller packages?......usually not a problem as long as do not meet criteria but on top of list for package profiling criteria is of course "source state"...(or country...)....which you can't get around, so.....Seeds?......small packages?....usually not a problem...larger you go, the more problematic it can be to a degree......)

Express/overnight, etc are high on criteria due to as above....perception less attention paid because "on a tight schedule".......(majority of cases one will find are overnight packages.....very high on the criteria.....)
They even made a point to highlight that due to the huge amount of packages its impossible to screen them and someone could possibly mail a bomb onto a plane. I would think the instances you are referring to would be plain stupidity like not sealing the package properly so the mailman smells it, not some high tech machine or a guy that pulls suspicious packages off.
Actually.....smell is not a factor as often as one would think...(try adding "vacuum sealed" to that search above :smoke:...

No.......a parcel interdiction job can involve 20-30-40-50+ people (Agents, postal inspectors, state, city, county, local and national guard).....

I've read cases up to 200 packages at a time pulled (suspicious, meeting criteria, etc......then submitted to a sniff......)

There is also quite a bit of information involving cases and appeals on what is considered a "reasonable" delay and otherwise on overnight packages pulled.....

See, a lot of people are under that impression (smell is an issue....) when in reality....it must be pulled before it can be subjected to sniff"...ie: Package profiling criteria is what begins process...not the smell....smell /sniff is last step......

Now I say smaller the package, safer it is but, again, any number of readily available cases will show smaller packages are grabbed as often as larger........

(talking seeds to z's to p's, etc.........seeds of course where topic started is about as safe as you can get, but, I felt I'd add that because many send many things besides seeds, and, most have absolutely no clue the true level of efforts nationwide/U.S.......

There are tens of thousands employed by the above who, on a daily basis, dedicate their entire career to parcel interdiction......(I was reading something about maybe Florida State popo and their "rounds" cover over 200 facilities......(USPS,UPS, FedEX, DHL, Mail Boxes, etc,.....etc, etc.....200+ facilities is quite a bit.......)

Here's a quick one, several cases regarding reasonable and unreasonable detention, sniff's, criteria.. (I like things that give me 10-20-30+ cases I can review later individually.....)

Actually, most of the things people think are "safe", are what trigger an interest......

One will find also upon review of many cases that return name and addresses are sometimes triggers........and, they do check all names and addy's with local to see if they are valid addresses.......They also check postage...(mailed different zip than return address....method of payment, etc.......)

Source states come into play first, then moves onto physical characteristics of packages (weight, how it's packaged, etc..) then moves to return and receiving addresses...labeling is also a factor (handwritten or label)..."feel" is a factor......weight proportionate to size is a factor....

West to East and South to North they watch for product, East to West and North to South they watch for cash......(one will find just as many cash seizures as product seizures.....)

Hottest is Cali, AZ,NM,Texas, Florida, and up North Midwest and East Coast......

In any case......feel free.....go through couple hundred cases and sure it will be of interest......Mail is not as easy as it used to be....Not at all.....

Express/Overnight/Next Day mail of course easiest to screen because packages overnighted fit a typical pattern in general...(business to business, smaller packages, documents, etc....), and, volume of next day is quite a bit smaller than general delivery...(priority, first class, ground, etc, which involve more consumers, larger packages, etc......)

Nah....they're out there and they're on it.......

I saw an australian program where they went inside the screening room. They had tray's and tray's of small letters and packages going through the x ray machine. They managed to find a package with 4 tiny little dots on it, they opened it and found they were diamonds , on closer inspection they were determined to be zirconium. They were tiny seed sized little things and they were pulled from a non descript envelope coming from the uk. I was shocked that they could even spot them

I lost my last package and I wonder how long it will be untill we can no longer get seeds at all through the mail.

Sounds like someone was doing a test run.......:smoke:.....(which all should do when contemplating mailing things......)

I was previously 6 for 6 on seizures, which left me a little uncomfortable for several reasons...(ie: They were larger packages, safe addy's killed,etc)...

Once I started having things delivered to my specs, I am 100% so far, and, some pretty large orders......(2000 seeds largest most recent order that came through..packaging was not standard........far from it :smoke:.....)

Small stuff not an issue...just a little creativity, work and expense has to go into it.....

(People always bitch about costs....what's more expensive......an extra $200 for proper shipping?, or losing a $2,000 order, etc......:smoke:.....)

?? No one I know of ever went to jail over mailed contraband, especially seeds. Provided you dont sign for it the reciever isnt responsible for what mail comes to them.

Receiver is always responsible for what they take possession of, found in every case.

I know 3 personally, and have talked to 2-3 on this site who have been involved in controlled deliveries of packages.

(Talking bigger. Not seeds or less than 5 p's)

Search warrant is issued for package, and then warrant issued for address, and, 90% of the time, address and investigation turns up something to indicate receiver was a co-conspirator....(other packages from previous deliveries, phone records, postal records of all deliveries to address, etc, etc....)

I've only read one case (out of maybe 1-2,000) where person who signed was not arrested.....package was for roommate.

One 1.

And, people have to remember that, because, there are indeed ways it can be done to protect you :smoke:...but, if warrant turns up other evidence...(phone records, postal records of many deliveries,or even other things not related (product, weapons, scales, cash), then your still fucked anyway because warrant was valid for premises.....

True, I was referring to parcels to you dont sign for that get intercepted. Most Ive heard on those were customs letters. Never heard of any of those going to prosecution [ besides the doctor dude that was warned.] I probably should have clarified that in my post. Thanks Julian

Well, seeds.......yeah, only the doctor I can recall....

Seeds whole different matter...(I remember doctors case and, remember thinking there was some serious politics behind it.......)

ie: He was growing and providing and recommending in non med state.....you know it was only a matter of time...he was fuckin with the system :smoke:....

On everything though, in general, not having signature confirmation, etc, is safer...because it falls low on the criteria...and, of course, it leave a paper trail of deliveries......(They keep internal records....a lot of cases they can pull the past year in deliveries.....) but, then flip side is if talking product, the longer it takes, the greater the packaging is compromised....referring to the vacuum seal...scent, etc.......general consensus from LE and dog handlers and trainers is vacuum sealing is good for about 24hrs.....nothing found on double and triple sealing...

I've found quite a bit about handlers and trainers saying if done right, dogs can't detect.....(and actually a few cases here and there in which dogs didn't give a positive.....but, due to reasonable suspicion they still got the warrant despite negative from the dogs.....)

Delivery confirmation and express and such just draw more attention to things imo....issue then is slower it is, the more the chance of permeation of scent through seal........(hence always I state if someone is doing that spare no expense on sealer....commercial grade and no expense all the way.......)

Seeds?......eh, I've had some pretty large amounts grabbed...(granted a 100% safe addy......)....and, don't think anything arose from it.....smaller the order the safer one is.......but, people should make sure safe addy's 100% clean to start with.......whole point.....

Nah.....I have gotten also some pretty large packages through........right through, not a problem....all depends on the shipping..(as above, larger most recent maybe 2,000?....)....nah......100 ways to ship.......as any other postal issue, always starts with how it was shipped first...

Already have, more than a few. Topic continued far beyond this thread since that post.

Get with the program man. This is all very old news...

Try "Express Mail narcotics profiling" :smoke:

Try "Express Mail+drugs"......"express mail+arrested"........."overnight+mail+parcel interdiction".......

Express mail worst method to start with, top on criteria and most seized.

Old news man....old news....

very interesting and informative discussion folks.

i am very paranoid about shipping and receiving. anything that requires identification is not something i'm interested in. that was probably my last international sending. it arrived by the way and he is very happy. :)

i went the u.s. mail route via a friend who doesn't ask questions.

here is a pic of a package of my first store bought genetics. 1998 or 1999. i found it in a corner of my room a couple months ago. lol

damn proxy is acting up again. it's in my gallery if you are bored.
