I sprayed H2O2 with copper nozzle (on the buds) now worried...

hey guys!

came here to get me off of my paranioa hopefully.

I just sprayed H2O2 on my plants and also on the buds, to help keeping those nasty spider mites under control. sprayed a 0.3 solution (1:10 3%H2O2 to distilled water)

which is safe on buds, it kills mites and eggs and also has anti-fungal properties. basicly just oxygen and water.

The thing is my pump-sprayer has a brass nozzle, which also turned black, due to oxidation, just had a look on it. I am now worried that I sprayed copper oxide on my plants and buds..
copper is contained in tap water too.. so basically the question would be, could there be enough copper in my spraying solution so the concentration gets toxic for me to smoke that weed later.

would be nice to hear some opinion from people that actually know a decent answer .. (don't need people saying " ooh trash everything, don't spray your buds") just in case:)

hope someone can calm me down..

Don't worry about it. There will be no Copper Oxide on your plants in any dangerous quantities.

Besides, copper is an important micronutrient.

Adults Edit
The World Health Organization recommends a minimal acceptable intake of approximately 1.3 mg/day.[45] These values are considered to be adequate and safe for most of the general population. In North America, the U.S. Institute of Medicine (IOM) set the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for copper for healthy adult men and women at 0.9 mg/day.[46][47] As for safety, the IOM also sets Tolerable upper intake levels (ULs) for vitamins and minerals when evidence is sufficient. In the case of copper the UL is set at 10 mg/day.[47] The European Food Safety Authority reviewed the same safety question and set its UL at 5 mg/day.[48]

hey thanks for the your opinion, really appreciate it. I also think that the leaves will absorb it, and the rest that does not get absorbed should be super minimal, even when smoked.. that metallic smell of the nozzle though.... I am a bit neurotic about stuff like that..

Citric acid in lemons can clean metals. It will shine up your stainless steel cookware as well as remove lime buildup in your coffee pots.
Make a natural brass cleaner by squeezing the juice from half a lemon into a bowl, and add about a teaspoon of baking soda and stir
until mixed. Apply the paste with a soft cloth to the oxidized brass. Once you've worked the paste into the brass, rinse it with water
and then immediately dry it thoroughly with a clean towel to avoid additional damage from water exposure.

Bit more than copper in brass. Oxidised copper is green.

Damaging the sprayer is more likely than hitting guidelines. They are only guidelines though. It's good that you spotted this and don't intend to do it again.

300ppm straight on them? I might clean mine up before the buds form.

yeah.. I know,, I think I may spray 1 to 2 times more with a petg nozzle and h2o2 only... basicly lightly washing , yeah I know brass contains mainly zinc and copper, the 2 materials that oxidize heavily .... the nozzlw was kind of black , stinkin metallc.. Iam sure if any, the concentration should be minimal.. black colored brass sounds like copper peroxide if you check google.. the nozzle was oxidized with that stuff I guess... but how much from that got into the sprayer stream.. surely almost nothing , I'll keep simulating some rainy-washing a few times with safe ammoundts h2o2, also too keep the mites at bay.. should be ok and even better than bud washing at harvest... hopefully no mold...

Good observation mud. There's nothing you can do now about something you've already done at this point. However, you can use this as an experiment and see what happens and report back to the thread and let us know. Keep us posted😎
