I noticed that the white neutral was connected to the bite fitting on the back of the plug....I never connect there because of this very problem.I only use the crew connectors on side of plug.Basically the bite fitting in the back of plug loses its bite creating disconnection of current and consequently arcing.

most stab conn on outlets are rated for only 15 amps

Ill third the side screw connections used over the push in connection. I would get some new receptacles while your working on them. Lucky there wasnt a fire.

make sure all equipment is properly rated, ie 20 amp outlets not 15, get some arcfault breakers installed quit messing around

He was not referring to the new independent 20amp Homerun plug added recently That's not the problem.
It was a existing loop that arced at the Bite fitting.
As I said before Stab connection are junk. They started coming standard on recessed lighting. The connectors get cut chucked and wire nutted.Proper
Last thing is if anyone finds any circuits wiring sketchy or unsafe they can simply change the breaker to an arc fault breaker...They are a pain in the ass because of sensitivity but they are very very safe.
If you truly have a problem that baby will let you know.Skull and crossbones everywhere.

arcfaults or that shit was your fault :tiphat:

Your pictures wouldn't come up for me, but from what I read, the problem is (almost always) a bad connection in your common(white) wire. The outlets feed from one to the next. If the current has no common wire to use, it has no way to get back the the breaker, it will use the ground. Every connection has to be solid. Like everyone had pointed out, use the screw on the outlet. Every connection must be in a box, and make a solid mechanical connection of the wires before you put the wire nut on.

A faulty common wire at the breaker box will create some of the strangest symptoms imaginable, like the microwave oven won't work unless the lights are turned on. This happens right before the microwave and refrigerator become junk, or your stereo.

Well, this saga is all over with. Main culprit causing the outage was the neutral that burned off. Some new wiring had to be run as well but all is fixed and Im back up and running. He also found loose neutral in the panel as well which probably didn't help things.

Unfortunately I had to throw the girls in bloom out into daylight (my lights on schedule is overnight) to get them out of the house the guy needed access to the entire residence. Hopefully that won't screw them up too badly.

Also...

For fucks sake...some of you need to put down the pipe and read lol..

Lights are already powered by a 20 amp dedicated circuit.
