stab the end thru the rez about an inch or so above your topoff line.
hook the water inlet up to the float with proper fittings.
easy as pie.

First off frank i got to say thnak buddy cause whenever i have a Q your always the first to reswpng man and i appreciate it.

Secondly man im building everythning from scratch and the only float valve ive ever seen was inside a toilet lol..

So are you dealing with the same thing? Should i be out buyign a float valve for a toilet and installing ti the same way?

So lets say i have a my main rez that needs to be topped off what i would do is have that on the floor. Does the other rez need to be on top of that? can it be next to it? I cant really go to home depot and explain that im makeing a auto top rez with some rubbermaids lol or i would.

buy a float valve that hooks up to a water line. it might have a threaded end or a barbed fitting on it.
im not sure if you can find something like that at the home depot or not.
but i do know you can find em online. do a search for em.

Hey man im building it for the Bio bucket setup. I really think this is the best way to grow with great results and minimum maintenance. You can check out the setup if you havent already.

heres a link its s ticky in the indoor hydro forums.

yep blunted, something like that would work.
make sure you size it according to the water line you plan on running for your res feed.

"make sure you size it according to the water line you plan on running for your res feed."

Meaning...? im kinda of lost again man this is why i dont DIY i know what your saying has got to be like the simplest stupid thing a 6 year old could do but W/O pics im useless.

So lets say the my supply lines in my rez are 1/2. These are the lines that actually get pumped from my pump into rez and from rez into my bio buckets. That what you mean by rez feed?

no, most folks tap off a cold water line in the house for top offs, others use another res to fill the main res.
all depends on what you wanna do.

i think i want to run another rez because of the fact im not around a water source.

yeah blunted i was seriously thinking about bio grow but no one seemed to say this way is better or not , i decided on the e&f for the fact that its a simple set up. I was lil confused on the controller setup that toke showed. its always hard to figure out how it works when they take not so descriptive pictures, someone needs to do a vid tutorial . Can you use krypto's controller with a bio grow? with a few mods to it

Honestly man i havent go tot the controler part yet so im not sure exactly man sorry.

Infact i dont think that you need a controler for bio buckets... If im correct its 24/7 countinouse pump and never needs a timer so no use for a controller but i could be wrong it aint built yet lol.

Blunted ,these plastic float valves are under 15 bucks & work great I use two at the moment. These have adjustable brackets that hook over the side of a reservoir or container no need to permanently mount it. they are real simple & very sturdy. I got mine at the "Tractor supply store" I'm sure you could order one or find something similar at any farm/ feed store. check out the top three items.

sorry not very clear I need to find a pic of mine,

Hey ez thanks for the help you mind answering a couple more questions on your float valve? Maybe a couple more pic's of your two rez's andhow it all hooks up?

To me it looks as if it is just hung over the side and when it goes below your water level it uses a syphon effect to syphon water from main rez from your second rez? or do you just have it connected to a cold line.

dude i get all that im wondering what your flaot valve is hooked to is it to a cold water line or is it to another rez?

lol after playing with my toilet (sounds gross i know) i think i figured it out. But it gives me another questoin which is added water = less nutes i know if your dealing with a second rez of lets say 25 gal you will know that when that 25gal is gone you will need to add the nutes for 25gal ( i think).

But if you got strait to supply line hwo do you know?

Can you simply use your PPm meter and just add nutes to be over a certain ppm?
