berger, whats up. how do you know this? peace back.

Sure... In the U.S. under the right to privacy i.e. fourth amendment to the U.S. Constitution.... government agencies of ANYKIND are required to obtain a search warrant to access a "PERSONS" private property.. this of course applies to area objectively closed to the public... not necessarily fenced yards etc... Now under the Tax assesment situation... the tax man "has the right" to evaluate ur property as if u used ALL THE FINEST STUFF... BUT you have the right to "appeal" this assesment... in which case u would most likely want to have them come "inside" the property.. However I have not seen the tax man do this as they don't want to be appealed "typically"....

Alaska is notorious for this.. as inspectors there are often kept "completely" off the property.. making them go from blueprints plans etc... however they can and WILL obtain "permission" to view the property if u DISPUTE there assesment..

Futher this does not apply to business that are "open to the public".. that is why I mentioned if it was a business... Also it does not apply to new construction done under permits needing to be "inspected" to be written off...BUT that does not mean they can just come in.. espeically if its obvious that it is being occupied. But I can tell u from personal experience that I have put off the permit inspection indefinatley...

Peace

ok, now i see what you guys are sayin about the tax people. it's not really what i meant. i mean, shit, you want them to walk through. you don't realllllly want to pay taxes on their guesstiment now do ya? my taxes are high enuff tyvm. i'm not about to pay on their estimate of the FINEST materials at all. in reality eveyone should go over their assessment and make sure that it is correct. a now departed friend of mine usta live in a town that taxed on your furnishings and fixtures on top of the building and property, imagine that huh?
i totaly understand my constitutional rights and know that you don't have to allow intrusions in you private properties but the alternative is not feasable when you will pay year after year for your stubborness. shit i might as well buy weed and break even.
now when i got back here on wednesday i find a car in my dooryard, the zoning administrator no less. her i freekin can't stand. now , her i told to get the fuk off my land and don't ever come back. heheh

Yeah that is how it is in Alaska.. thats why people don't want government "comming on their property to asses taxes"... but the tax assesor doesn't just assess the highest he can... he is busy with other things, in nothing other than political, so most likely he would go somewhere mid range based on other properties of similar type inn the area..

The difference you are saving each yr AT MOST might be 500 :yoinks: however the scenario you describe in my state/township would be more like 50 bucks... but depending on WHAT UR DOIN IN THERE... whats 500 or 5k a year?? if ya know what I mean... :chin:

Under normal situation I SO AGREE that we should all QUESTION and APPEAL our property tax assesments when we feel they are unfair.. especially when you feel there is NO WAY IN HELL u could ever sell at whats tax assesed...
Have fun in that garden

Peace...
