a lot of patience my friend...and dont forget your kids
no matter how many troubles you have,,im telling you these words
from my soul.(i never had dad)

im so alone....and so many troubles....

Cheer up. Look forward to April. Put your energy into making it happen. Next Christmas will be the great one. It has to be better than Christmas's in Manilla. I'll bet that really sucked.

Yeah, I'd better buck-up and stop accentuating the negative, but rather the positive. There is always many worse off than me, and I have a lot to be thankful for and to look forward to still.

If you believe in depression then it can exist in your mind, and so I am a firm disbeliever in the depressive state which I will never let get ahold on me. Shoooo! Shoooo! you depressive rascal! Go away!, you can't catch me!

Ahhh, that's better....Merry Christmas Everyone - I hope that you can find some peace, love and joy in your hearts this holiday season, whoever and where-ever you are.

i like Christmas, but i hate how it is being commercialized. the season USED to not start until AFTER Thanksgiving, now you see sales & shit nearly year-round - "beat the rush, BUY NOW!" fuck them all. i used to get hams & such as part of my bonus, always took them to homeless shelters. giving to those less fortunate is the idea, not getting all of the cheap crap that you can fit under the tree...:moon:

I see most of you guys bagging on Christmas for the commercialism, which I don't disagree with at all, but, I feel as open minded as we should be in this particular community, you're only halfway there...

Think farther back than commercialism exploiting Christianity, to when Christianity got our current holiday traditions by perverting those "evil pagan" seasonal celebrations and incorporating them into christian holidays to trick their followers into our flocks...

...That rant aside, I've been loving late night walks enjoying the snow and xmas lights this last week, and I'll enjoy chinese food at 10pm xmas night, watching A Christmas Story, alone, not having given, or gotten, a gift lol... I dunno if it's a religious upbringing/cultural, or geographic thing, but I always dig the holiday season, and its polar difference from the others. The snow makes everything so bright and quiet, it's a great peaceful environment to wander around in

well yes. i see xmas much more as the roman "Sol Invictus" festivities, when the "unconquerable sun" gets reborn and starts to rise again. something i'm very happy about as it signals the coming end of winter.
jesus for example is so obviously just an antropomorphized sun i find it mindboggling that people insist he was a real person.

I love Christmas my kid gets all excited about presents under the tree. Sure I'm not really Christian but it's just a few days after winter solstice and New Year's is just around the corner. I hate short days which is why I love Winter Solstice.

Also been going on thousands of years before Christianity. I don't remember where Europe I believe, but they have an ancient building that only on Winter Solstice for one hour the light hits it just right. Wish I could remember what it was a video could explain it much better than me.

One thing that kind of bugs me is New year's day should be on Winter Solstice but fuck the politics. Lol

I work in a setting that helps students and families all year long and refers families to churches, organizations, and individuals for Christmas assistance. The people giving are generous and many. I have seen this year after year. The part that is frustrating is that it is often the same families wanting help... year after year. I have heard more than once, "that place didn't give me enough last year." Youth above the age of 12 are often left out of some places, but we have been able to take care of them.

TV gives a false impression of what Christmas is truely like. Not everyone is warm, well feed, in good relationships, and happy.

Christmas is about family and good friends, not stuff.
