Hydrofarm Compact Fluorescent 125W System

In my opinion, unless you do not have much room, you should go with a HID light (HPS/MH). The buds you get off a better light will be well worth the extra change.

I'm pretty sure you can find 400watt HPS systems for around $100. I think that will be a better bang for your buck. Grab a MH conversion bulb while you're at it. Your plants will thank you for it!!!

Good luck:woohoo:

Hey fellows,

What do you intelligent folk think of the Hydrofarm Compact Fluorescent systems?
They got a 125 and 200W model. Look pretty cool.

I'm trying to veg in a 3x3 ft area, does this put out enough light to be worth 120$?

What're y'alls thoughts?
I'll be vape'n bowls hoping for a response:joint: Peace

Thanks for the advice so quick. I should've mentioned I have a 600W HPS in the flower room which is where the vegged plants will end up.

Ya the cheaper dewguard version is way better value, I think I'm leaning toward those because of the heat factor and no ballast. Could fit many in a small area too.

I'd go with T5s, I don't like spiral bulbs that much for plants because they put off too much heat for my taste. I actually use a 4xT5 strip for early rooted clones and small seedlings and then veg primarily under a 400W cmh. Then I move to a 600W hps. The cmh is actually quite cool, but I get more stretching under it than the T5s, so I leave them under T5s as long as I can.

Edit: Also, I went into my local shop asking about these and the guy steered me towards the 4xT5 bar.

These are good units for clones or early veg but they now offer a 250 and 400 watter with built in ballast that is more what you are looking for. I know for a FACT that these damn things (the 125's) eat bulbs like candy and you might wanna consider the Satellite floros. Not many folks know about them but love the shit out of mine, they offer a 2 bulb and a 4 bulb but are pricey. But then again whats the going rate for Dank Bud anymore?

I have one of the 125 watt ones, used as my primary veg light for a few years now.

Not had a problem with bulb life myself. They make it a year or so before I feel the need to replace them, similar to my t5 and hps bulbs.

It will cover a 2x2 area decently. Perhaps the 200w one could cover the 3x3 area for you, but I think you may want to consider a 250w mh or cmh setup instead.
