Are these the green fans? IF so stay away from them, I have one in 8'' and compared to my 8'' vortex its night and day.

Dont waste your money to save a few dollars. Buy the better equipment once and be done with it.

Nice man I saw the specs im going with a can 33 for the scrubber so I need something that works well with it......The 4 in model has a low cfm rate 100/133cfm.....the can 33 is rated for 200cfm so I dont think I can use there 4in model the 6in model is 278cfm so its too high.....unless I get a speed controller......decisions decisions....

I dont have any experience with those other brands of fans, but once again i would not reccomend going the cheap route with a fan. Just spring the few extra bux and get yourself a nice vortex fan. Get an oversized vortex fan with a speed controller now and you will have a reliable powerful and quiet fan that moves way more air than the bargain brands.

If possible go to your local hydro store and just handle the two different fans, a vortex and the hydrofarm fan, or other brands for that matter. Buy the one that feels the most "heavy duty" to you.

Good Luck.

I appreciate the input but Vortex fans even with the speed controllers are not that quiet........I heard the 4in and the 6in type and they were both loud.....I tried the can fan and its pretty quiet.....The elicient fans are very quiet but at being quiet they come with a high price......and my local shop doesnt carry them....Im going to go with the Can-fan 4in model rated for 178cfm matched with the can 33......Thanks guys for ur responses......peace

Uber... inline fans are loud... no way around it... I had the 4" vortex and with the speed turned 50% down it was a slight hum, but noticeable... there's no way to get around the noise of the fan... unless you build one of those fan mufflers...
