hydro vs soil, mendo purps x grape ape

not sure where to put this thread but since they are flowering i thought i would put it here.
This is some mendocino purps x grape ape both of them 2 weeks into flower with a 1 week veg after rooted,
both rooted on same day, both were same size.
my goal is to see which one is better bud,(taste, potency, smell, ect)
i know already that the hydro is going to yield more its already obvious.
Both of them are getting the same nutes (advanced sensi 2 part, advanced kushi kush, botanicare prosoil, and sweet)

i will keep everyone updated at least weekly!

What's Good bickeyb,
Nice grow you have. I was just curious, as to where you picked up the mendo purps x grape ape seeds? I picked up two packs from a local dispensary in Sacramento, a few months ago. If you have ant info as to the breeder, that would be greatly appreciated.

yeah i got them in sac.. they told me danny dankco was the breeder i dunno if i believe that but its an awesome smoke!! look for the one with the more sativa pheno

funny u mentioned seeds ill crossed the mendo purps with my sour grape that i just harvested and they came out perfect! ill be running them after my somango

a little update, looks like the soil is much frostier then the hydro, but the end product can only tell!

Hey thanks for posting this one.
I do believe that with soil a great deal of chelating and soil balence is required for rapid growth - and so they may need to go longer to be worth flipping indoors

I know this is a strain that can handle a considerable prunning / thining out. I do not remember how long you intend to flower, it was a short veg. They can go 9-10 weeks hydro and be trained a bunch - thats a whole different system though yeah nvm me

i wish i could veg longer im in perpetual with a small veg area so 1 week is all they get and ill probably get alittle over an oz out of the soil not sure on hydro yet.. and this strain finishes in under 55 days, ive ran her longer but the best smoke is between 50-55 days.. she will start to purple around week 5.. they are only at day 22 today

update day 31!
i have already guessed that the hydro is gunna yield, and u can tell by the pics its amazing how much bigger she is! and im glad ive caught on to it and im starting to really like tthe hydro thing!, soon i will be 100% hydro just need some cash first!

but so far the only difference is that the soil is starting to show a little bit of purple and the hydro u can kinda see it coming it, but on the soil u can tell its coming

the hydro is killing it in every category!!
i have one more set of plants to run in soil, then new clones im taking are all going into hydro!!

nice ......another thing u dont have to pay for soil over and over and find places for it when ur done with it in hydro ...just run the faucet and let the water sit 24hrs and fire up the hydro system ur set to go and pour it in the toilet when ur done ...vs soil u have to lug in and out also soil means bugs and pest vs hydro its not as common
