HYDRO GROWER, NEW TO SOIL HELP ME LOL

Hi everyone, Am a hydro grower but want to start keeping my mother's in soil
so if some people could give me a little help i would appreciate it greatly.Am going to take some clones and put them in the 1/2" rockwool cubes to start so what would be the best mix to put them in once they have rooted through the cubes.I have been told to use fox farms ocean forest mix by a friend but would like a few more opinions from people who have used this or others mixes. Thanks for reading

Hey man, Ive never used FF mixes, but the Biobizz All Mix has worked wonders for me. It has enough nutrients in it to supply the plants for the first week at least, so you dont want to be giving them ferts straight away... ( i hear the FF mix is quite hot too so whatever mix you use, lay low on the nutes for a while, apart from some rooting boosters like rhyzotonic for ex).
:2cents:

Good luck

FFOF might be a little to hot for Clones. It was for some of my clones and they burnt, your mileage may vary. I mix FFOF and Promix 50/50 now.

I do ocean forest. No complaints. However, if you can get it, try Foxfarm's happy frog, its more of a vegging soil, and since a mom would be vegging all the time, probably a slightly better pic.

Hi all thanks for helping me out i appreciate it.I will go and get some soil tomorrow and see i how i get on.Thanks again to the 3 of you.

Take it easy all.

Soil Mix---Organic

Soil Mix---Organic

 Hi All !
You can plant new rooted clones into my dirt mix:::

Mex/Jam bat guano= 1 tbs ea
Blood meal= 1tbs
Bone meal= 1tbs
kelp meal= 1tbs
fish meal= 1tbs
soft rock phos= 1tbs
greensand= 1tbs
worm castings= 1-8oz cup
rock dust= 1tbs
dolimite lime= 2 tbs
the above is all dry ferts that is premixed into the soil, then activated with
enzymes+seaweed in a gal of water, pour this liquid on the dirt mix then let this mix cook for 3-5 days, and everyday I would stir this mix to areate it...
each batch of above ferts goes into a 1 gal container of soil, that way each
container has the same amount of ferts, instead of mixing all the dry ferts into a big bag of soil...then some containers are ferted more than others that
way...not good down the long haul......then people start using liquid ferts to
makeup for a lack of dry ferts that should be in the dirt to begin with.......DO
yourself a favor a get a good PH meter the Hanna combo is Great! Pour RO
or tap water in a gal container then your ferts then mix then PH the mix to
6.0 I use lemon drops to lower PH....and check water temp 68-72 degrees..

My new experiment works GREAT!!!! AND ALSO PH-6.0 across the board for
all water and water+ferts.....makes a PLANT Happy!!!! wanna see.....

this is 50/50 ocean forest and super soil + my fert mix + liquid activator
 Peace....

I plant newly rooted clones and seedlings in ocean forest with never a single problem,it too "hot" is not the problem, better check your water or some other avenue.Ocean forest is excellent non-ferted soil to start seedlings or brand new clones with,I've been using it too long with too many strains to think otherwise. Now marine cuisine is a different story,10-7-7 I believe, ocean forest a big 0-0-0.When I plant rooted clones I thoroughly soak 4 inch pot with water, then next time I use 1/2 strength grow big.The soil is certainly not "hot" at all.

I have never tryed FF but i have been using coco for a while its a nutural soil so you can make all the adjustments with the nut. Its nice if you want to controll the levels in the early weeks
