That's good to know about Golden Tiger. I'll probably sex those first before flowering out to completion, so i can save space in the garden. Or maybe I'll only plant half of the seeds. I don't know. Branchy plants are easier to reveg, so I do like branchy plants.
Golden Tiger Thai phenos are beasts, they are best flowered as mature plants.I just bend the wispy branches over.!!Malawi phenos are best for small grows. I've had some 2 m tall that could have doubled that. Thai -Clear , visual high. Will get heavy and trippy the more you smoke. Great spicey earthy taste.Panama is also a very vigorous, though will handle being flower as small plants and provide well. Well being weed!!!! Great taste and smell. The high is not as strong as GT . The effect is a lot kinder and enjoyable. Happy , positive and creative. Best of luck.
Yeah ideally what I would like to do is flower them out young, just to get through the mother selection, and then do a better, more representative grow from clone later on. That process usually works for me. And based on what you are saying, I think I might be able to get by doing a single plant in this tent, when that time comes. Probably do a scrog.
I already know I'll have to do severe training with these Ace sativas. I didn't realize to what degree until I saw the Vietnamese phenos of the OE, so from here on out I'll be flowering young. Just to get through the seed plants, so I can get back to working with clones again.
It looks like it's just the two in the back left. At least, they're the ones showing it early on. The other 4 could still purple up later on I suppose. But I just pollinated these two tonight with some blueberry pollen because of how colorful they are.
Last night I finally had a true sample of my Vietnamese-leaning OE, after a one month cure, and it was the most euphoric strain I've ever had the pleasure of smoking. And pleasure is an understatement! I was not expecting that. I thought it would be a more speedy, maybe even paranoid, kind of a high, and that's what I was bracing myself for... But nope! It was just waves of euphoria flowing through me, while keeping me alert but not speedy. It honestly felt like really clean amphetamines or something, maybe more like 4FA, for those of you who know what that's all about . There were moments where it even felt like MDMA or some other kind of empathogen, minus any psychedelic mind blowing events. All this time I was expecting it to be similar to other sativas I have experience with, like Mexican and Colombian, or Nepalese, or even haze. But it wasn't! It was like being wide awake without any hyper vigilance or mind racing. Then, about an hour into it, the body high cross-fades into a heavy, sleepy feeling that makes sleep an easy next step.
Just wanted to say that my general view of sativas has been upended, and I now think I've been limiting myself by focusing on indicas and indica hybrids. I always thought that indica=sleep and sativa=awake. But that was apparently very reductionist of me.
I haven't felt such waves of actual euphoria in years! Not since my party drug days!
Hey hush!
I have to say that I agree that OE is totally "happy weed".Very characteristic high, haven't had anything similar before. It always hit me on the frontal lobe.
I had the mixed pheno, though ,and I think that my two current ladies are similar, too. But,I have about 6 more fem seeds(First strain I ever ordered again) to try and find a more viet black pheno.
The purple began showing right around the same time the calyxes began showing, which was in the third week of flowering. This is clearly a case of genetic pigmentation, and not environmental affectation. The room never gets cold, and there has never been a P deficiency. This is just a purple flowering plant.
And no, there was no discernable difference between the phenos prior to flowering.
Thank you very much for sharing your opinion about Orient Express
I'm so glad you rate highly its smoke and that it produced pleasurable sensations of euphoria, alertness and good inner feelings.
The effect of OE sativa pheno is very clean, nicely focused, chatty and positive as you have experienced. It was probably my best first attempt to breed with landraces back in the day.
Your indoor PCKs are also a joy, such beautiful hashplants!
How are they doing in their last weeks of flowering ?
