If your human enough to have pets you had better be human enough to to these creatures that love you unconditionally when the time comes. I wish that when I am old and spent and need the mercy to free me from pain or lingering suffering I am treated as I would my human family which includes the best 4 legged friends I have ever had. Anything less is a fail for all of us. The rainbow bridge is a thing that some never get. I feel sorry for those sad people.

What was the drug he was administering - and what area of the cat was he attempting to inject it? -

The vet tech injected in the thigh, pentobarbital.

What exactly went wrong? Before a pet is put to sleep, its usually administered a strong sedative. I'm sorry about what happened, but you did not act appropriately. A Bruce Lee quote doesn't exonerate your actions.

The event was traumatic, and I clearly over reacted,
the bloke could've pressed charges and that would've
been unfortunate.

Almost ten years ago, cat was 18 years old.

California has had for a while, which has been somewhat of a comfort for me.

Recently, a local judge managed to put a halt to it.

I euthanized my cat with Argon gas last year.

It is more humane than nembutal. My cat just passed out and started her little seizures right away.

Just.. i donno.. for what its worth.. It's a controversial argument. Lots of humans look forward to their nembutal, i suppose, or have had to administer it to loved ones.

Oklahoma recently started using inert gas instead of injection. Odd to see them make the first step in a good direction.

My only regret is that I didn't buy a little kitty cat oxygen mask so that I could hold her in my arms while I administered the gas.. which I do regret.. all too often..
