They used trained martial artists in this study which is ridiculous if they're assessing whether its an instinctive/natural/evolved behaviour.

They should have used untrained subjects and perhaps recorded injuries sustained for each striking method.

Is anyone aware of any existing primitive cultures that favour punches over slaps, wrestling or weapons?
