Those crosses you see aren't some mystical property of the stars themselves, bud.
They're an artefact of the structure of the optics of the instrument used to record the image.
They're called "diffraction spikes" and these show that there is a four-fold symmetry to the instrumment, probably an image from Hubble Space Telescope.
Protip: these are a quick way of being able to, at a glance, know if an astronomy image comes from Hubble (with four spikes) or the newer James Webb Space Telescope (which has a six spikes).
