HPS rockwool heresy and a tent of freebies

Sensi's NL would be really good if it had a different smell. It's hard to describe but I don't like it. It's like BW in being in the same area of unpleasant chemical smell. A lot of things I've made with NL5 in it have this sort of smell. But as a bush it has perfect natural structure and would be great for extract. Big, round, sturdy - could support more weight. I hope to try it as an ornamental along a driveway.

Sensi's Big Bud went 10 weeks and also has a chemical smell comparable to BW and NL, but a little stronger. Fuel mixed with Simple Green. Sensi calls it a sweet fruit profile.

Here's SC dry and defoliated. This should easily have the best aroma and flavor of the seven, better than any seed for sale I've tried except NL5xHaze. Because the bar is pretty low, really. It's not anything like dank. Mango with lemon and grass.

Unfortunately the buds are not as dense as they appeared, and destemming left me with only 70 grams of this:

Yet another (this is getting weird) 625 g. grow. BB came out to 70 g, same as SC, but in a much smaller footprint.

BC went 3 months because the lower half refused to die. Foxtaily like GC but unexpected here. 125 g. So much for better pictures.

Dinafem does themselves no favor with the BW freebies, 50 g.

Nice grow, I've done something similar recently, a run with freebees and bag seeds, I had a Green Crack S1 as well , it was a fun session with many different plants who made great buds to smoke

Not freebies now but not much else is different, so this shit again. Here I'm not even measuring pH or ppm - just mixing up the Flora in RO water and rolling with it. This is just the last two SLH fems and last 4 Sensi NL5H regs from their packs, forgotten in the fridge for years. The leaves don't look hazy do they, but the light spectrum and all used here does make leaves fat. The internode length and the measuring tape says that I've got tall, short, and in between, 9.5-17''. These will veg for a bit.

Had a go with HPS color correction, not a complete success. I suspect the SLH are the tall ones on the right, will know for sure later. They didn't look like this under unenhanced HPS in promix or whatever. About as indica as it gets on the left, but I did get quite hazy, excellent phenos from older NL5xH seed which gave the whole range. But then the other 6 in this pack were on the indica side too, so...well the point is RW is simple, clean, foolproof and excellent, moreso than finding the right seed.

Nothing to see here 9 days later except a lot of leaves and stems. Too bad about the HPS lighting because these look much better than my camera skills. Some change since last post - now using alkaline tap water. My phosphoric acid is diluted to the point where I just add a tbsp each of the acid and Flora per gallon, without testing to see that the mix is yellow to pH indicator - because it surely is. Had to switch to the 600 early, all the plants being exactly as wide as they are tall - 14-23''. And they have names now, numbers increasing from shortest to tallest. They all have a lot of branching, but the indicas are going up instead of out - I need them to be males to get them out of the tent, but am very curious about what would happen if they were female. This should turn out more interesting than the first grow.

Back to where this thread began - first short day, tallest plant 30".

The differences are genetics, H3PO4 instead of lemon juice, more intense light lately, and guesstimating instead of taking measurements.

#10 looks like it could have been big outdoors. It and 7 are female.

You dare to read my diary, again. Not much of a reward for you. This is now officially a SLH grow. All the others were male! Fuck. Well I wanted room in the tent.

SLH has really fallen out of favor since I bought these seeds. The first time around, there was no hint of lemon or even citrus really - maybe lime - and the bud rot resistance was not there either. The description does mention tallness, and 7 and 10 as shown are at 37 and 39''. Still not much else to say.

After 4 flower weeks, 7 is 50.5'' tall by 40'' wide, 10 is 49x39. 7 smells better than 10 but they evolve daily. Was a perfect fresh juicy fruit a few days ago - now, no. No lemon for sure but that's fine and I didn't want it anyways really. Hoping to get 400 g. but it's not clear that either will be 200. It would suck if the yield could have been bigger with 4-5 clones flowered at 20''.
