How's the progress of my AF?

This is my very first grow - it's just 1 AF, White Dwarf, under 70 watts of CFLs, with a 20/4 cycle.

The plant is about 3 weeks old, and 5 inches tall, and fairly bushy. Is that about normal for the strain? It seems a bit small to me. Also, when do AF's typically begin flowering? I've noticed that the new growth at the nodes looks different, like some long white hairs are protruding - so I'm thinking maybe flowering is beginning?

Sorry I can't provide pics at the moment - camera is out of my hands for the time being.

I noticed some signs of N deficiency (older leaves yellowing) - so I just recently potted the plant up into a larger pot with a new soil mix. When do you typically stop feeding for AF strains?

Well man, I will personally say this -taking for granted that we don't know the size of pots before and after, etc- 5" seems a little short.

What size pots were they in before and after? Long white hairs are the beginning of flowering so thats a good sign at least

4" inch pot before potting up into a large, maybe 4"x10"x4" planter. She wasn't root bound at all when I potted up - probably perfect timing as far as that goes.

I was originally thinking of LST'ing along the length of the planter, but I guess it won't be necessary if she stays so dwarf.

Sounds about normal for the White Dwarf i think. Grown a couple out and they stayed small, largest being about 13" at chop. You will probably see a grow spurt right about now, usually after they show sex and are given more root space that take of!! God luck. Keep you fingers crossed that you get the pineapple pheno, I did and the smell was amazing, like freshly cut pineapple with a minty/earthy under tone.

How close to the plant-top are the CFLs ?
A few inches(3-4) is reccomended.

distango you are gona be upset a 70watt cfl mate me buddies have done white dwarf and they came out so nice we used them for breeding sorry to say this your wasting your time at least get a 150hps or 250hps there not that much money now. we only use a 400hps but man that makes such a big diffrence we have tried cfls had nothing but trouble for us anyway
but fairplay mate first grow you got to start somewere but if your looking for bud then go hps

Or LED if you have size restrictions and heat issues.... Im very happy with the results I get from my LED and that was dirt cheap and is sooo stealth!! easily pull of a 1g/w of dry high quality bud with a simple LED set up.

This said I still think you should give your set up a go and if you like it just upgrade yourself for the next grow!
