bagseed and floros....I like to grow stuff....good weed was hit and miss back then but the hash was killer and frequently around....wanted more weed, wanted no waiting and no charge...growing solved that....plus made bank$$$$$...haven't looked back...weed has bought me a lot of stuff including a new car a few years back...hard to imagine what it would of cost all these years if I had to buy all I smoked......couple ounces a month minimum x 32 years smoking weed???? growing my own =======priceless

When a Z of good weed was 20 bucks, I had no interest in growing, especially because i lived in the city and the "burbs"..

By the time it was $35 a Z, i started seriously thinking about it.... The first time some dude told me his weed would cost me 25 bucks a quarter, i said "fuck it" and called my best friend on the phone, made a trip out of state to visit him, to get lessons from "the Master"....By '87, aquaintences were offering me a buck-sixty for a Z of my homegrown, but I was keeping almost all of it for me and my friends....

I smoked a lot in high school but always got ripped off so I quit for a while and it was always mids and regs dime bag kinda shit. In my early 20's I started smoking again, a lot had changed and I realized there was really good weed out there but it was very expensive and weed in general was a pain in the ass to get. My girlfriend had suggested I start growing, I thought it was a good idea but didn't have a clue about it, as I never grew anything. Well I bought a hps security light and some mylar, and some mexi brick bag seeds and some flower fertilizer from home depot, I set it up in the attic in the summer and it was a total failure produced awful tasting weed, that looked like shit, I ended up chucking it all as it was so bad.

Well I didn't give up, I bought some real seeds from amsterdam, I also got one of those all in one ballast light combo 250 hps and some legit nutes, second time growing was light years better. Been hooked ever since and a lot has changed and evolved since then. I now smoke nothing but home grown headies :joint:

Shit weed at a high price is a major motivator. My first crop (which was really shitty) was still better and cheaper then what I could buy.

It's only gotten better over the years. Once you get hooked it's game over.

Growing illegally for so many years made me realize I will always grow no matter what the laws.

I can supply us with enough smoke with just 1- 400 watter. With 1-600 I watter I can keep us in smoke, and edibles.

You can always find room for 1- 600 watter. :)

Also I like
knowing what I smoke is free from unwanted additives.

I understand the sentiment, but at the same time, after DECADES of smoking, I never bought anything that had any additives other than some twigs and pebbles to add weight. In forty years of smoking.

I loved getting high in college. I never had to look for dealers. Everyone I bought from was a good friend or family member.

I got my first place on my own after college in 2000. It was in a new state where I didn't know anyone. I decided to try growing. I found Overgrow and Cannabisworld, and I started learning. I grew a few bag seeds that turned out to be weak. It was still fun.

I had been reading about this new strain Cinderella 99, so I spent $75 on 5 seeds to try it out. I got 4 females which produced the best 5 ounces of bud I had ever tried. Nothing else had come close. I've been hooked ever since, on C99 and on growing. I eventually moved out here so I could grow it legally.

I didnt have a job and very little money, so I started growing weed....

It gave me self esteem and self worth, something the employers down south are keen to control and ration only to those they approve.

Seeing some youtube videos by a guy who called himself Mr. Green. He was painted green, but his videos were funny and brilliant. He was Canadian, and he demonstrated down to earth stuff like how to clone, and made it seemed really do-able. I found his pic, here it is.
Mr. Green, if you're out there, thanks for the videos, you the man!

i started growing because i didn't want to fund organized crime anymore with my hard earned cash.

soon i found out that there is nothing better for putting your mind at ease than having jars and jars of primo bud in reserve. :D

I had the advantage of being a keen gardener for many years & around 30yr ago had some real good weed from Dam that had 6 seeds in it , no idea what strain it was but it was good . Said to my buddy that I`d try growing it outdoor (uk) , he said it couldn't be done , I proved him wrong . Not a great harvest first time but clean & packed a punch & it was cheap . Never looked back .
