How to save seeds

Exactly, that is why it is important to put them at an appropriate humidity and temperature.

In addition to the fact that they are young seeds.

If you take some seeds that have been in a drawer for 2 or 3 years and you freeze them, they will not have the same strength or germination percentage as seeds that have just been taken from the plant...
It's that shot of nitro from the freeze

A couple of years back I had seeds stored in the fridge that sprouted?

The top pic was in the packing, I'm not saying that they were kept on "perfect" conditions they were just in the fridge bottom drawer.

It's the first time I've seen something like this. If the refrigerator is at a low temperature it should not sprout.
Also, if they have sprouted, it indicates that they had moisture to be able to germinate. If it is the original container, it must not be good for conservation.
The vast majority of seed banks use containers that are not suitable for conservation...

Wondering if you had a power outage for enough time for your icebox to melt the frost/ice and accumulate at the bottom of fridge soaking your packs.

This happened to me. I ziplock the packs now and keep them off the lower part of fridge.

Not too bad. I just got a 4 of 4 germ rate on 7 year old seeds I made also. Obviously half the age of yours but still I'm happy with that.

Hey bud i couldn't absolutely rule that out it's possible, I'd say I don't think so based on the packaging condition, when it happened someone suggested they possibly weren't dried properly I wasn't sure if thats a possible?

Tbh I didn't think they'd sprout in a fridge under any typical fridge conditions.

Cheers
