How stable is Casey Jones s1?

Before we go any further i would just like to make clear, that in no way am I shit slinging, trolling, or any thing else for that matter.

Having read through quite a few casey jones threads here on i.c and else where, it seems that it doesnt require a lot of stress to get nanners in flower, some growers have reported these to be sterile, whilst other growers just pulled them of and they did not re-appear.

Head. Himself explains this in his forum and puts his experience down to high temps caused by a broken A.C unit, he also warns against light leaks and minor stresses having more of an impact.

Now i dont have any light leaks,my temps are fine, and i try to stress my plants as little as possible,so i really dont think ive got anything to worry about.

Am i right in thinking that the hermi issues that some growers experience, comes from the unknown Thai that billygs used to make the Oriental Express and not from the ecsd side of things and are these genetic traits more likely to show in s1 seeds.

To be fair im looking more for a confidence boost as the seeds have popped and the grow is under way, but in the back of my mind i think ive got a ticking bomb on my hands.

Also does anybody no how old the plant or stock is that was used in the selfing.

In my experience with Casey Jones regular seeds the nanners were just a few around the lower third of the plant about the 3-4 week in flower. I just plucked them and I was good to go the rest of the way...no problems.
I wouldn't worry much at all, there is no ticking timebomb just dankness awaits.

Peace...

Not sure about the S1s, but my experience with casey led me to...

A few of the phenos will pop nanners without stress. In my experience, these are always sterile.

Light leaks and temps can also cause nanners, and some of these weren't sterile, but I never found an unacceptable amount of seeds, even testing for these hermi traits and pushing light leaks. Out of 9 females, I only found 1 was unacceptable for its hermie traits, but she was still a great smoke, and gave me a nice little genetic back catalog on top of making some F2s...

Hope you enjoy casey as much as I have

I know they used the truecannablis cut of CJ for the selfing.

Stress will cause problems so i would not recommend these to inexperienced growers. Just keep an eye on them and try to keep the environment steady.

the purple colour one threw nanners constantly from day 60 onwards, but as said above were sterile.

I did get in touch with OJD, just in case you think i don't care. -_-

Im very pleased with it,

At first i was a little worried about the hermi side of the plant, and also the fact it was an s1.

I was told that casey jones s1 were a bit of a crap shoot.

And wasn't worth the risk due to the Sativa from the billy goat seeds plant being unstable.

So based on this information i decided i wasn't going to get my hopes up to much and just role with it.

The plants caused me no issues what so ever in the vege stage, in-fact if anything i neglected them a bit.

12/12 went with no issues right up until day 60 ish
when the plant on the right of my photo just started to throw nanners for fun,

Im still unsure as to what caused these nanners as all the other plants were unaffected.

But as they were sterile i just put it down to the strain allegedly having known issues with nanners.

3 of the 4 plants were very big and ended up around 6ft 6 tall, and around 4ft wide, they were tied up on the 3 walls of the tent.

The 4th was the same size as the others @ 12/12 but didn't stretch at all, maybe 8" at most. This plant sat near the door to make access easier.

Plants 2 and 3 (left side of tent and back middle ) were both the same in phenotype, the buds looked like they had a lot of sativa in them, and the high was very racey.

Plant 4 the one near the door, was v small compared to the others, but grew massive buds that were very wide, around day 56 it started to go very orange in its appearance and its smell changed dramatically (smelt slightly rotten but not to offensive ) The high was, well it wasn't so much of a high it was more of a down, its quite hard to explain but i gave some away to a friend who has spinal cancer and he said " it makes him forget" so i gave it all to him as i found it a bit to depressing.

Plant 1. The purple one that threw the nanners, is by far the most outrages weed ive smoked in a very long time,

I dont no where to start with the high as it is truly different to anything Ive ever smoked before.

Spliff 1. Will get you up and doing stuff, but you feel like your stoned.

Spliff 2. Will give you a feeling across your brow and just under your eyes, that makes you well aware that your stoned, your motivation takes a dramatic turn for the worse.

Spliff 3. will make you sit down for a few hours, put the ps3 on and lose yourself for the rest of the day.

Plant 1 does not get smoked now unless Im of work, or the kids are asleep.

Thanks for showing an interest.

Ran 3 fem seeds. Each one a little different but all very good. No problem with nanners. A win win all the way around.
