How safe is it to post pictures here?? Any stories or opinion?

Thing is what does deleting a user name (associated with posts made) accomplish?

Nothing.
Actually... it's rather nice of admin to do that. Since people usually have horrible concepts of security.... not allowing LEO to just log on as that user and check PM's, private posts, visitor messages, friends lists and so on and so on..... is veeeery nice.

Who cares about the photos.... they already screwed up. *shrug*

Often you will see individuals take pictures with their hands in the pictures. It's probably not a good idea to do hat unless you distort figure prints or other identifiers.

I take pics all the time with my hands in the shot. I really never thought about it but im a legal user. I don't thing LEO would go through that much trouble to ID someone on here with there finger prints.

I would imagine most people get their door kicked in first and then, if they get your computer, they might discover your ICMag account.

I doubt there are many doors being kicked in solely because of photos you post on ICMag. Probably wouldn't be too many of us around here. Running your mouth in the real world and not paying attention to detail will land you the pokie quicker.

Much trouble?

It's easy:

Print out picture of fingerprint, make a b/w scan, scan in that b/w scan and compare it to existing database.
The whole process takes about a minute.

How do I know?

Googled it.

SpasticGramps has it correct, if you get caught up in something and then during the investigation a warrant is secured for your house, well, any cop is going to be curious as to what you have on your computer. The pictures in all probability will never lead the police to you, but what is on your computer could very well add to your problems.

I know of two people who are doing the 5 year minimum because they grew more than 100 plants over the course of three years.....yeah read that again.
The feds called it a continuing conspiracy and added the plants from each year.

You know of 2 ppl with shitty Lawyers--:eggnog:

They are lawyers...lol...I'll post the article

I wouldn't want to call Tony Serra a shitty lawyer. He is IMO a good cannabis advocate.

This is what got the feds onto them

Both are Medical cannabis advocates, one a lawyer , the other a doctor(wrote a lot of scripts)

Just google Doctor Mollie Fry...you can read it all.

Since leo is always watching I never post anything that could get me busted!! :bandit:

If you don't post pics, good luck with talking to folks on here. It is ironic when you first find this site you read and read rule #1 tell no one about your grow, but if you don't share pictures on the world wide web of your 400 watt grow of a strain that has been seen about a million times no one will rap with you, damned if you do and damned if you don't. But still a great site to learn how to do it right.

Actually...

All cell phones have a GPS per se. It's not always GPS like the 24 sats running around the earth, but all cells use triangulation of the the three nearest towers heh...triangulate a phones position.

That's exactly right.

Remember those news articles where they caught "the bad guys" using their cell phones?
That was done by triangulating and is done down to inch accuracy.

If you make a 911 call from your cell and hang up you have waived your privacy rights and depending on the technology local LEO has available they can track you down by using either tower triangulation (gives a coarse location) or by a system used by the military (yes it is a mobile system) down to a few inches accuracy.

Who knows.. maybe their will be computer software to easily do it for them some day? Actually, I would be willing to bet this technology will exist in the not-so-distant future. If you're a med user, you don't have much to worry about :)

My entire class was finger printed in like second grade.

Definitely!
