does anyone here take breaks from smoking so they can get back there tolerance lol? i been smoking for like 5 years pretty much str8 .. and im thinking about taking a break for a few weeks so that i can save buds.. i cannot afford to smoke a half oz a day anymore. me and wife combined.. smoke about 10-14 grams a day.. we worked up to this.. now we want to cut back so we can get stoned easier..

anyone find a perfect amount of time to stop to get tolerance low enough to get high off smaller amounts?

I usually never do. Ive been smoking for 8 years and the longest break I took was 5 months, so I could find work. I dont buy weed, so its not an issue for me....

i do... like every +-6 months for +-2weeks.
but when i smoke, i usually don't smoke all day. only some bowls or spliffs in the evening after work.. only about 3-5g / week..
and i try not to smoke the same strain two days in a row, one day superskunk, then one day sensistar, then.....
i feel like this strain alternation keeps the tolerance low, works good for me :)

Tolerance? What is that? I get stoned everyday same same for going on 24 years now. No need to take a break. Sleep is all you need.

Now if you are trying to return to that laugh your ass off sensation where you can barely stand up, ain't gonna happen unless you got a time machine.

no point taking a break, after two or three days your tolerance goes back up again..

have you tried a vape?

some people with higher tolerance find it hits them harder than smoking the same amount in a joint, i probably agree but i like reefer madness..

Never.

Tolerance build up is a myth, been smoking every day for 7 years straight and still get nicely high off of a half a joint every time, and I smoke at least 2-3 joints a day.

I find 10 or 15 minutes sufficient. I mean, if you can stand a break like that.

It's pretty rugged . . .

Ever since i started smoking weed well over a decade ago, the longest break i've taken is 41 days. And that was just so i could get my current job. Any attempts at a tolerance break usually don't make it past the 24 hour mark

I don't take breaks for tolerance purposes but I do take a few weeks to a month or so off pretty much yearly to change things up.

I get debilitatingly high the first few days back smoking and the lowered tolerance tapers for about a week.

Everybody is different.

Although I do feel like a traitor when I'm not toking.

I wish I could take a break and lower my tolerance a little, but I think I would have a hard time falling asleep.
Haven't missed a day of toking since 1988...

I have REFLEX SYMPATHETIC DYSTROPHY, and it never takes a break, so I guess I won't be taking any breaks from medicating!!!!!

i havent smoked in over 6 months. i stopped only because i had a moldy harvest and ran out of smoke. once i went a month without i just kept not smoking but now i have some new strains coming down soon and might puff to gauge if i should keep the strains. when i come back i will be hitting bongs only, cleaner and less bud consumption

Never. Unless I run out of bud and cash.

High functioning autistic here. (I didn't make up the designation. LOL)

I stop medicating and life becomes a lot less interesting and a whole lot more irritating... as my functionality deteriorates.

If I even stop for a day my tolerance goes down lots. After around a week off I'm back to around zero tolerance. I get really bad insomnia though when I do stop.

yeh 8 days in right now. 1st few days always hard but im on easy street now.

No smoke (planned) until the outdoor comes in 3-6 weeks.

I bought some real nice "bush" before xmas that lasted til early feb and then spent the last few weeks smoking "hydro". Guess which one doesnt agree to much with me?

The indoors good for every now and again but not for long term use. Been smoking 16 years. Mostly full time but last 5 years i go 1 month on 1 month off sort of thing. I get more done that way. When i smoke its normally 3gs a day sort of thing.

I need to take a break. Haven't since 2006. And that was only 19 days.

1 month should be time for most people to get all of the thc and cannibinoids out of their system.

And after I quit for a month it is usually good and it feels like the first time youve smoked or close anyways.

Tolerance is real. Your body gets used to being high you don't notice it as much.

I found this helps with tolerance:

Change strain regularly
Change method of smoking regularly ie: diff pipes/bongs or switch to joints or blunts. Do oils or edibles. Just swap it up.

If I smoke out of the same pipe for a month my tolerance just to that pipe goes up. Strange huh.:blowbubbles:
