How much veg space/wattage for 3200 flowering watts

I'm going to be using 3200W (2 1k and 2 600,) for flower (soil,) starting in august (Probably going to be two 4x4 tents and two 3x3 tents, or something similar; not sure yet if I'm going to have a dedicated room or not.

I'm wondering how much wattage/space I'll need for the mothers/clones. I'm thinking 12-16 plants per each 4x4, and I'll top them but probably won't bother with scrog.

id start with a 1k or maybe a 600w mh...
you really need two phases of veg growth... id get 2 4' floro lights to nurse the clones under, and also a 1k for when they have roots. the mothers might get away with a 400mh or 600mh. floros make mothers strech and clones are spindaly and weak stick with the hids.

I myself have been wondering what a good veg wattage is in relation to flowering room wattage.

Veg Lights - I'm thinkin multiple 400w CMH.
Unfortunately I have a few 432w T5 lights already. Guess the most economical thing to do would be just use those.

If you're talking strictly moms and clones, I think color and temps would be at least as important as watts. CMH is a great choice, lots of blue, relatively cool temps compared to MH. For clones, if they're in the same room, I'd just put them on the floor or under the tables. They can't really make use of strong light. Because I rarely clone more than 6 at a time (if that) I do mine under a 23 watt cfl from several feet away.

your mostly right. if your going straight moms and clones its not as important.
now if u want to throw some seeds in there it makes more sence for mh/cmh...
although i believe the mh triggers the plant to grow shorter nodes, if geneticly incline to do so. i have a few indicas 3 or 4 ft from this 1k i have and there so stout its sick.
