get plenty of light ... lots of air circulation .... high drainage medium ...good nutes ... learn what the plant wants ... after a while you can kind of "read" the plant health ... judge your new growth to monitor what is up

lol,i know i just got home from the shop when i took the pics,i gotta rewire them so that they r 220 and im building a new room to flower this weekend bigger than this one and ill make updates to veg room as well all new mh's

Been laying low lately, I'm still watching shoot a pm if you need anything.. Posting itself is what takes time, between the slow connection and the multiple threads.. I pretty much just hang out on what ive already posted in..I don't ever have time to check new threads - I do once every few weeks maybe. Been re-designing everything. I have a few criteria I want to meet and base everything off of that..phew..im ripped...ill probably rant some more now..

I'm pretty sure I remember reading star crash uses Ionic Grow & Bloom, he hand waters in pro-mix hp w/ perlite.. He'll correct me if I'm wrong.. It's all about finding your groove and reading the plants like he said - know when something is up and make the right move. I don't remember what you're using for a mix, is it soiless? I would suggest you go with Ionic, i've heard good shit from Peat users - but nobody has ever shown me their work. As you can see from star crashs' thread, he does some fine work with those nutes. What are you using for nutes now?

So what's up, how many ladies is that? How big is the flower space, how many lamps available? Do you know how to re-wire those ballasts? Do you have a place to plug em in?

My main piece of advice is do it when you should, because if you wait till the last minute the work piles up and you get sloppy. Let me know what else you need bro..

I don't mean to thread jack, but if I have a 9 x 24 ft space, 220 sq ft. How many 600's would be efficient. I'm worried about stretching, could I just go MH for 2-3 weeks into flower and then go HPS for max penetration?

All Pro-Mix soil, with light LST. I plan to hand water each and every girl, hopefully from seed like LJ's insane grow I've been lurking around.

but to tell u the truth i never mixed any soil before right now they are in Baccto lite premium potting soil thats itcause i needed to transplant asap but like i was sayin i never mixed soil before so i dont even know where to begin,right now for nutes its grow big and i just added some guano into the water last night i also handwater my ladies,right now there are 72 i think lol and i have 14 more fresh outta the cloner with 20 still in there.i have a total of 3000 watts for flower,the flower space now is 17L 10ftw and 8 ft. ceilings but im building a new one that will be a lil bigger it will also make a bigger seperate veg room possible.my buddy will rewire the ballast for me he does his,and my room is wired for 100 amps so ill put the 220 plugs in then 1 days work hes got the ballasts now and i i know what you mean about lettin the work pile up,i waited and waited to transplant and then i was up till 5 in the morn. doing twice as many as if i wouldnt have put it off lol oh well...peace brotha

med grow no prob dude ask all the questions you want thats what its all about bro thats a pretty big space! can i ask why you want to use 600's?do you have them already?if not i would suggest 1000's especially for max pennatration if thats what you wanna accomplish if you can ,also you can use both hps and mh lighting at the same time for flower somethin about the hps lighting gives a long more softer bud and the hps gives a more rounder denser bud so by putting both for flower you give ur plants the best of both worlds and get bigger dense nugs the more experienced people can explain better and correct me if im wrong peace fam-oh yea do you have a link for that plane crash you were talkin about?i'd love to read that story 4 real peace Y

do you want that whole space as a flower room? I assume you would want to divide it up. A flower room, a veg room for mothers clones, and another veg space for the next ones going into the flower next. Keeping a production line if you will.. I wouldn't use a 600 for anything. If I can have a 600 I can have a 1000, otherwise it's 400's but that's baby stuff homie..

Y, what you bought there is pretty much what I mixed myself. I used Peat, Perlite and Vermiculite -no wetting agent (soil moist) which made my first few weeks of watering hell..and the fungi it's talking about I added myself by doing a few feeds with T-Harz from cutting edge..similar to cannazym, pirhana/tarantula, subculture, etc.. I think that you need to add Perlite to that pro-mix, do a search or take a picture. I use a lot of perlite when I mix shit regardless of what it comes with 25-30% of my total mix..

You only have 3 lamps to flower under? They are like 12" tall right? You can start to set em all to flower under the 3k, making the footprint 12x5 with the lamps parallel to the 12' length.. Each lamp covers 4x5 perfect if centered right. Make sense?

Y, my thing is, I don't really wanna go magnetic ballast, I'm worried about electricity. I was planning on using a 5x9 space for my mother/clones. The space I'm talking about is strictly for late veg - flower. 1000 digitals...? Anything dependable, I've have to check out clown's digital ballast thread.

So, if I was at 600... how many is optimum. What about 1000? What if I decided to go vertical for longer colas, would that number of lights change?

the way im gonna build the new room ill have the mom/clone room half of this room for veg and a space bigger then this for flower yes as of now only 3000 watts for flower but slowly but surely that will change more surely then slowly.the ones that arent lst are between 12-17 in.tall and the ones that are lst'd are about 12in.im kinda wantin to get the new room built before i start to flower,that way i dont have to move them too much.i see what you mean about the light footprint how many 5 gal. buckets you think would be best at one time im tryin for 50 with 10-15 goin in a week that way they roll out a week apart watchya think?the electric will be safe homie my dude is a journeymen electrician he knows his shi#.i know bro safety is first not to mention a big threat to security.thanx for making sure though my friend like i said any and all advice is needed and welcome at this point.do you think you could pm me or post the exacts on your mix?thanks for your help fam,peace

med, you don't need vertical hanging lights for big colas. you need to use the right genetics, and proper length of time in veg. the average thought is that a 1000 covers 4x4 and can penetrate 5-6', a 600 covers 3x3 and can do 3-4 of penetration. I myself think a little different but this info is alright. Search around man, sounds like you want to go big but don't have much experience.. You're going to want to pace yourself so you don't pull your hair out. Btw, what's wrong with magnetic ballasts? I don't get what's so great about digital ballasts..other than you get to replace em often - if you like that kind of shit?

I was using the same ballasts that I bought in 2001 up to last year. I bought 3x 1000's in 2004 and ran em for one grow in 2005.. Those 04 ballasts are what I'm using now..I may go digital when these die/get so ugly they look like they will cause a fire...in a few years.

Y, dunno how you plan to lay it out but if each 1000 can handle a 4x4 (i use 4x5) thats about 3k for that whole 10x4 room.. or was that a typo? buckets? why not grow bags? the only downside is if you have 5 gal bags and you need to move them when they are full you need to really grab it by the bottom.. if not you will tear the bag - my 3gal when watered will stretch a little when I yolk em up to weigh them.. no biggie at 20 cents a bag but it would suck to break a 5gal bag of dirt I hate a mess.

You have some time with them right now, I flipped at 16 or so inches and they are all about 28"-34" now.. at 20 days.. not much of a stretch at all, so consider that.. Ive been using my genetics for a good while now and I know them pretty well - never from seed but they feel the same.

My mix is as follows..

1x 2.2cu bale of Sphagnum Peat Moss
1x 2.2cu bale of Perlite
1x 1cu bag of Vermiculite
Makes like 30+/- gallons of mix?

I have never used Lime until this current grow, never again -it's ****ing with me and I've never needed it. I thought it would help buffer my pH - it does just much higher than I need. So I pH down a whole lot this grow..

I'm a hydro lover, I started using this mix out of need..If you look around it's a pretty common soiless mix. Coming from using rockwool slabs, I treated it just like rw. I used the Lucas formula (gh micro/bloom) veg ratio until 14 days of flower, then it was over to flower ratios..

That was then, this is now..So I veg with plain old Shultz 10-10-10, and I started adding Floralicious Bloom 1-1-1 at the recommended dose...then I switched over to FloraNova Bloom, Floralicious, and Molasses..I did use MaxiCrop Bloom for one feeding last week..



I don't know everything, but I know when they are looking off, or growth is slow.. From there I can look back at what I'm putting in em and work it out. Watch salt build up and keep em on the fence between over fed and just right. I get a lot of help by doing searches and talking with friends Ive made on here.. This current run I owe a lot of my sucess to 20kw Dreams, he knows his nutes and reactions. That's what this place is here for.
