These 2 girls are planted in the local soil, a decent mix of de-composed leaves etc. at the bottom of a pit that someone dug out while chasing Gold, about 100 years ago.
They don't have a spring fed situation. But the soil level at the bottom of the pit is about 5 feet higher than some blackberries about 50 feet over. The blackberries are growing in a seam of sand/ clay/ gravel/ rock that oozes water most summers.
So the bottom of their roots might be getting a little water from that seam of water/sand/gravel etc.
Like an Artesian well maybe ?
Anyway, with the smoke, the sun condition is pretty close to "Cloudy".
I know us growers, in the process of trying to give TLC to our plants, sometimes over do it.
Is it better not to water these 2 plants while the sun is hiding ?
