As cannanaut said. It depends on what you're looking for. A breeder might be looking for different character traits than a grower, a cash cropper will be looking for a high yielding plant above all and a connoiseur smoker a superior high, etc etc. A 'superior' plant that fits your definition of what a superior plant is might appear in a pack of seeds or in a batch of 1000 plants, it's all relative.
yeah, you could get a special plant in your first 10 beans, or may take 100s.
in 4 years i have 1 plant that i have kept from seed that i considered a great plant. but everyone has a different opinion of what a great plant is, so yeah its all relative to grower tastes and such.
see alot of guys findin a plant in 10 beans they consider a keeper, i must be gettin the crummy beans of the batch, cause i dont have that luck, lol.
