Yes, how many outdoor grows have you started...and how many did you finish?

I´ll start.

I´ve started approx. 25 grows.
First one didn´t work.

After that my harvest have been better and better,
A few years ago I found cannabis-sides on the net...And my hobby grow bigger. Not meaning anything commercial.
My interest in different strains has just grown...to see and feel the difference

How about You?

Peace

To the best of my memory, this is either 28 or 29. I have always harvested something, but my early years were not nearly as good as my later years. The early years were lost on laziness and inconsistencies. I can honestly say, unless you get lucky, you get what you put into it........

I'm second generation outdoor grower.

My father has grown a small outdoor crop every year since I can first remember, and long before that(Mid-70s). And he continued until the last several years, since I always have plenty of bud for him, and since I am also continuing to selectively breed his personal strain(s).

I grew up helping my father tend his small gardens, helping carry water etc. He taught me all the basics I needed to know, then I picked up his grow books, and growing magazines. I also had extensive experience growing non-Cannabis crops, and in the process determined that Cannabis is probably one of the easiest benificial plants there is to grow.
Once I found Overgrow.com, it was all over for me, the wealth of information led to alot of new ideas to apply, ever since then I've been a cyber-Cannabis geek.

I've been growing on my own for over 10 years now, I've had one near-complete failure early on, during my first attempt with clones, I only harvested about 7 Grams with nearly a dozen plants. Alot of factors came together to make that season miserable, including a cool, dark spring/summer, and my complete ignorance on using clones outdoors(the reason why are the kind of things OG helped me to understand) .

Last year was nearly a failure, but I tried some new stuff, and still got a nice stash.

only 3 for me.......
i had to have some bad event happen before i figured out i didn't want to interact with shady dealers anymore. Last season was basically a complete failure. I only brought in about 3/4 of an ounce betweenmy 3 plants that actually finished. 1 was lowryder, 2 were hollands hoop runts. deer took out my main patch of 8 right about mid june when they had already hit a solid 4 feet tall. that was a dissapointment.

im back at it this year with plots closer to me that i can get to on a daily basis if need be. I ran out of money to buy seeds after putting it into outdoor stuff so im going mainly off clones this year for outdoor.

backcountry,

you are most def a wealth of knowledge, but are ya saying that growing from clones outdoors is a waster of time? i will say that one gets a bigger stronger plant from seed, but clones also do well outdoors from my experience, but yes i prefer seed over cuts anyday. just interested in your experinece i can always learn more.

If season is meaned as whole year then i think around 8-9, if more sophisticated and without or with counting errors as more yields in one year, indoor and so then around 10-11 or so :)
but not so important number, somebody is great grower after one season, somebody is so so average after 5. depend on each grower separately. Its like Karma points, doesnt mean that man with higher karma is better grower as sadly many ppl thinks :)

elevate,

The only difficulty in the outdoor growing is "to choice the fitting strain" for your climate ;)

if you haven't got "the" strains.. you'll harvest shit or nothin'

only the personal experience can help ya what should you grow

good luck to find

NG

..there are some great strains what usually doin' good almost everywhere for example (Sensi Seeds) Skunk#1 or Sweet Tooth, AK-47, Super Skunk, etc.

working on my tenth year. still learning. have switched to 'air pots' AKA potatoe sacks for the second time as the root formation is alot more vigorous. I have also built a blackout box made from silvered foamboard insulation panels to control the light as if indoors. I do have a question...should I set the dark cycle the same as for indoors 12/12? I live on Canadian border and about 3200 feet up so my growing season is short and spring comes late, I am also off grid(not by choice but economics) and thus the box to force early budding to finish out before the snow flies. so 12 & 12?
