3 BIG releases in the '70s that I recall were One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Godfather and The Exorcist. if the theater sold out we waited in line for the next show to start, NO, not over night, just the next showing for that evening. and damn, did we ever wait.
today??? I don't wait in line for anything except the cashier @ the grocery store, if I'm headed to Wal-Mart to shop I go @ 4am, I hate those lines, no waiting.......
In most cities there are options to buy tickets online. That way you can walk right past the fools who waited in line while they buy their tickets and find the best possible seat while the rest of the crowd slowly files in.
