Haven't been to the movies since 2008. I'm way to antsy to sit through a whole movie without getting up. Then you miss the most important part...

Rubber Chicken-Those prequels were a friggin joke. Horribly bad. Most people like to pretend they don't exist lol. The originals are where its at.

haven't been to a theater since the 5th harry potter movie IIRC.
i just hate the experience. as others have noted, no pause button, you can't smoke, you miss part of the movie if you go to pee and the other people are usually annoyingly loud.

i won't stand in line for anything. i think people who stand in line for a new iphone need psychiatric help.

i watch new movies as soon as the bluray rip is available.

just for starters, the term blockbuster was coined by the movie studio's in reference to people who were willing to wait in line around the block for tickets.

3 BIG releases in the '70s that I recall were One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Godfather and The Exorcist. if the theater sold out we waited in line for the next show to start, NO, not over night, just the next showing for that evening. and damn, did we ever wait.

today??? I don't wait in line for anything except the cashier @ the grocery store, if I'm headed to Wal-Mart to shop I go @ 4am, I hate those lines, no waiting.......

Longest wait in a movie line I ever endured was for the original Star Wars. There was so much hype over it that my brother had to drag me to it. The line wrapped around the earth . . . it was soooo long. I thought, "this better be the best thing I ever saw". It wasn't. It was actually pretty stupid IMHO (sorry fans).

Saw the rest of the original trilogy on VHS when my kids wanted to watch them. I wasn't impressed with them either, although my kids really enjoyed them.

I really hate to wait for anything but unfortunately a career in the military made me an expert at it . . .

princess leigha (sp?) sure aint lay able anymore...yeehaw

When they shot "Empire Strikes Back", she was about 19 and Hans Solo was about 32.

They got very drunk before the Lando Calrissian "city in the clouds" scenes.

From some Carrie Fisher interview.

Pretty sure Solo thought she was layable then.

I went Friday at 11AM when most people were at work. No line, and the theater was half empty. Matinee price, $4.84. A bottle of water is $5.50.

The barriers were still up from the line that wrapped around the building at the midnight show just 11 hours earlier. Pick and choose your battles.

In most cities there are options to buy tickets online. That way you can walk right past the fools who waited in line while they buy their tickets and find the best possible seat while the rest of the crowd slowly files in.

In my city we have theaters where you can even reserve your seat online. It's slightly more expensive, but they have leather recliners and you can order food and drinks (alcohol as well) right to your seat. It's pretty nice, but you can spend a small fortune.
