How long does the RCMP investigate a grow usually?

Say someone ratted you out, but you pulled the plug ahead of time. The helicopter checks out the location a few times. They find nothing, no smells, normal hydro usage, nothing in the trash, etc.... When do they end the investigation? and do they really notify you if you were under their scrutiny?

However, if you're feeling ballsy, I'd wait at least 6 months. Seems silly tho.

the most important question is where do you live man? i know its canada but what region. my buddy set up in suburb of van, it took 500 nieghbor phone calls, a 9 month investigation then a 911 call to seal the deal. place ran the whole time. he got three crops in. when they came to the door, they did an illegal search and seisure, left the equipment and told him to set up 5 min away in a ghettoer part of town the shittiest thing is the landlord had to pay 25000 bucks to sell the house for power, water and gas to get turned back on, all the city and police labour costs, and pulling saftey and fire permits to put it back on the market. no charges laid do to illegal(gustapo style) police work. every suburb of van puts in over 2000 nieghbor grow op calls a year. where are you on the list ?

From what I understand, and what I have heard, they tale about on average of 6 months to complete their investigation.

Now trust me, these are feds, they will know everything about you and your dealings, and when they do bust you, their case will have all teh t's crossed and I's dotted.

Your only hope is the Supreme Court, and if you are running a commercial grow, they wont favor you

most cities where i live arent towns but connected to the greater vancouver area. if gro ops arent connected to gangs, rcmp have better things to do. mom and pop grows are at the bottom of the list of priority for rcmp in metro vancouver;-0i believe that only van and new west have police, all other cities are "rcmp" even the city of surrey which has 1 million plus people

grows are so common where i live, there is propaganda on the radio all day long about:"single males, shitty car, no company over ever, every 2-3 months company(trimmers) come by for a day or two,viciuos dog breeds,always home, never works etc etc etc. my friend got shut down because the nieghbors became obsessde with him. they had to go to work and he was always home. this is qouted from the rcmp special investigation unit" a guy across the street formed a coalition against you, 20 out of your 40 nieghbors on the block wanted you out. so they decided to make 1-3 phone calls a day ratting on(the radio propaganda above) times 20 people times 9 months. we havent connected you to a gang and assume you and your partners will be taking a serious loss that you will be blamed for. we are doing an illegal search and seizure of the plants and anything else illegal. we appreciate your clean set up(hydro, which nooooo one does in bc) and recommend you take your equipment to the city just east of here(2 min drive). you will not be charged because this is the only way we can get you to leave:illegally.half your street hates you and half the street dont care" he went back the next day, grabbed all his belongings and equipment, and was setting up, as per rcmp advice, in the city 2 min away. this is a day in the life of growers in the bud capital. his mistake was: not having a girlfriend or wife, any roomates, a decent car and better rapport with his nieghbors, i think the fact he had a pittbull terrier didnt help his cause to much. he still got close to 50lbs in 9 months before they illegally removed him from the community.

Wow. Sure sounds like they wanted him out of there. Just strikes me as strange that so many on his block would be SO sure what he was doing that they'd devote a good 30 minutes a day calling in lame tips like that. the only people going to jail in BC for grow ops are


1. serious repeat offenders (in this case they better go to jail to learn how not to get caught so often)

2. huge commercial ops with obvious gang ties, mostly viet guys it seems

3. people with unregistered weapons at the op


there was a poster here who reminisced about a couple years ago some guy in BC had a 130 light op and got 1 year probation. i read an article about a big grow busted in a commercial location a couple weeks ago and the guys didnt even get charges

check craigslist, i bet a bunch of those ads for hydro equipment is from RCMP / VPD guys

by the way, if you doubt any of what i'm saying, there is a free and widely available report made in 2003 from SFU detailing all the results of court cases with fancy bar graphs and various types of charts showing that very rarely do growers go to jail in BC. but it could all be changing with c15 so who knows

a part of the propoganda that "blower" reminded me of, is that people are told in metro vancouver that 110% of grow ops are dangerous, gona kill their schildren, gona blow up or burn down the block, only gangsters grow weed, grows are the reason to blame for everyones emotional, physical, mental and financial problems, and if they are irradicated, that all of societies problems will disappear like a fart in the wind. this is how easliy the average person is controlled by tv, media and government. bullox!!!

oh by the way i think a few posters in this thread might be confused about what they are talking about when they mean RCMP and city cops. not all cities have their own police force. many many places (id say the majority) are RCMP policed only, with no local force thats seperate. in vancouver there is the VPD, but go 15 min south to Surrey and its RCMP. i dont know what it really means in turns of security though
