How is the Female Seeds C99?

Howdy folks,

seeing as this seems the most active and current thread on C99, I wanted to post a pic of my own C99 pheno (actually not from female seeds) I have going and ask for you guys' opinion on it.

The growth structure, number and shape of budding sites very much reminds me of the C99 pics I saw many years ago. I am quite stoked with this pheno.

What interests me the most though is the head bud. At the center/top of it there is nothing green, just a lump of pistils waiting to pop out/explode. Have never seen anything like that.
If you look closely, you can also see that some of the tiny bud-leafs at the top are yellow around the edges. This goes away once the next node forms at the top (happened to lower leafsets already and they all turned regular green after a while).

But forget about the leafs.
The head bud folks... what is that, is that normal? Is that something to get excited about? Very curious about this plant.

Scared to post such a battle royal honestly....Not sure I want to loose a friend in Soul or get banned from all of the potential haters bringing the pain for a good 3 months....

I have been considering documenting my comparison and waiting for completion to begin such a thread.

I also want the female seeds crew to know I am a huge fan of Ferry's GNO3 the seeds from which I was able to resurrect my Grail Cindy albeit for 2 years until a total Piece of shit forced her to be culled, not getting into that just lost her.....AGAIN! Its been a decade of searching all others and didnt know until GN returned and we had spoken that Female seeds was related to the GNO3.

Thank you all very much for you kindness, spread love! Hate NOT!

Best,
LT

Nice, nice :D

The pics are from about Day 28 and they are PeakseedsBC C99. According to MikeJ over at Peak they come from leftover Frostbrothers stock which in turn comes from leftover Bro's Grimm stock.

You are more than welcome!

Ferry is currently busy with several projects, as always actually, but we already sent him your regards. ;)

Thanks for clearing that up. Good to hear the C99 hasn't changed in your hands. My regards to Ferry whatever he maybe doing these day.

Cheers

Do you have any picture we could see? We are pretty curious now ;)

Similar experience here; had two phenos out of five seedlings. One was a bit taller, lanky, huge main cola but very airy. Sour/grapefruit leaning with decent trichs and OK smoke. Nothing to keep around. The other finished quicker, had thin sativa leaf blades and smaller but much tighter flowers where the calyxes would form a repeating pattern from top to bottom...dubbed it the "Fibonacci pheno". Excellent calyx to leaf ratio...very stacked. Yield not great but worth it @ 54 days. Fruity punch flavor with a nice soaring happy high. I might have a couple of S1's from her but I would have to dig in to the vault. Hoping that is so, as she was a dandy, even if not like the original.

Note: conditions were not ideal at the time so the former pheno may have been tighter and the latter a better yield had I done a better job with the environment. Grown/bloomed under (2) 150 watt HPS using Jack's citrus feed in coco. We'll see how they like a pair of greenbeams CMH plus added blue using similar nutrition later this year, and with temps and humidity dialed in a little tighter.

Sadly the pics are on a laptop that needs to be resurrected. If/when I can make that happen I will post up the pics of the two; very different plants altogether. Going to be in on the new release from BG but will also grab another pack or two from FS in hopes of finding that fruity bitch again.

This is a double inbred cinderella. The seeds forming will be the 3rd time i got a new seed stock to self mate with the original genetic strain. From seeds over 5 years old after an original cut clone was mommed and experienced a bitch fit and went hermie. Since each hermie self pollinated it cut down many years of inbreeding and backbreeding to the mom to new offspring. The mom plant had a grapefruit smell and the high was very creative. This spawn begged of rotten pineapple but half way into flower that smell disappeared and developed a chernobyl type sweet sharp sherbert. Ive had flavor profiles change in other plants but never have i distinctively smelled such a dramatic fluctuation and ive only smelled that smell in chernobyl

Hey JT,

Thanks for sharing your experience!

The second pheno sounds great, seems like a typical C99 even though the bud production should be great normally.

If conditions were not ideal I can't really judge; I mean, I understand how difficult is to have perfect conditions sometimes, but is true that if you have them then you can get really what you are looking for.

Too bad you have no pictures...next time we will be more lucky!

No problem FS. With more space, better spectrum and the environment dialed in I know I can get a better pull. I'm nearly positive I had pics up on another site but they moved and I've yet to request an invite to see if my thread is still up. Once I get a chance to pull the pics off an old hard drive I'll give you all a peek. In any case I'll be running more before long and will share those as well. Thanks for all the work you guys put into this. Cheers.

Yep, you already have it clear in your mind then.

For us is a pleasure to see the result of our breeding but no worries at all, we have no problem with waiting :big grin:

And thank you for your words,

Looking forward!

I suppose it sort of is changing smell wise these last couple of days does looks decent but mostly a sweet smell on this one...at 4 weeks 11/13. Clone I took autoflowered on 24/0 though. I got more of a rotten evil tropical punch smell on the Grimm. This one might still turn out more similar to GNO3. I will say the FMS c99 is looking and smelling better than the mosca releases so far.

Hey LT,

Glad to hear about the smell and thanks for sharing your impressions! ;)

One quick question, the clone you mention is of Female Seeds or someone else's? Auto flowered on 24/0?

Update FMS C99 at 48 days bloom.

Today I have confirmed Nanner's on 2/4 cola tips. That is unfortunate but most likely attributed to the selling process. Otherwise she needs atleast another week or so with 20% red hairs right now and all clear trichomes. Very strong scent and copious tall standing trichomes. Just a bummer its a she male.... Sort of sappy fruit smell right now will report back at chop and cured puff report.

Hey Newguy, can't tell you that much about the other strains but surely if you go for our C99 you will get a great, fruity and full of flavour plant with the aspects of the original C99.

I'm torn between FMS C99, SSSDH, Barney's Critical Kush, and Gorilla Bubble! can anyone chime in with opinions? :)
