Great feedback and advice from everyone.
I don't think I'll contact him just yet to let him know. I mean the line I followed was pretty obscure and I doubt the coppers or anyone else would spend the time or resources going down that track. Unless he was already in the cross hairs and if that was the case he would be buggered anyway. I am sure they got more tricks up their sleeves than I have.
Another thing I didn't mention was spelling. He made the same common spelling mistakes in his forum posts as he did in his facebook posts. Think of words like various. It seems to only have an E on the end when he spells it (it wasn't various, but a similar word and fault). Therefor I would say the best way to hide that sort of things is a good spell check before you hit submit reply. I mean my spelling and grammar is the absolute pits so I'm trying to rectify that over time.
Easy7: You're quite correct. A blank backdrop is good. One thing I always look out for is the close up bud shots that your holding. I've noticed in a lot of shots you can zoom in onto fingerprints!! I always edit all my pictures and smudge the fingerprints. Don't black them out. Blacking them out would bring attention to the fact that you can see the finger prints. Hence authorities would be looking for that one pic you have not put big black squares on. Instead, its better to zoom in and smudge. When you zoom back out it looks like a normal finger/hand.
Also, don't use paintshop swirl. I've heard of a case where some crims were caught because they posted pictures of them doing illegal things. The cops just loaded the pictures into ps and reversed the swirl. No, I think the best thing is to use a smudge, smudge it left to right, then up and down, then round and round. Change brush size, repeat. I'm not sure if its reversible but I would say its harder than a simple ps swirl.
