How do you vent a hood on a rail?

Hello,

First post, LONG time lurker. This place is awesome!!

If I had a grow box that was 2' x 6' x 4.5' H, SCROG, with a 250 HPS on a 6' light rail, how could I vent the hood? I can't figure out how the vent hose on both sides will either stretch enough in each direction, or to keep it from sagging into the flowering tops (I guess that would be a good problem to have) :woohoo: But then it might scrape off some resin...not good.

I'm going to use either a DIY Bake-a-Round cool-tube or the Euro hood from HTG: http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=49541

This is the last thing I gotta figure out before building the box. Thanks for your ideas!

Dont just wish that it was legal. Contact your state and federal reps and ask them to CHANGE the laws so that nonviolent users dont waste tax money by having to go to jail.

try using a bungee cord to hold the extra duck that should keep it off ur plants. On a 6 ft. rail thats 3ft. each way attach duck work in the center of ur box so the duck don't have to move from 0ft to 6ft just 3 ft. each way.Hope this helps

I used a cable and pulleys to keep it from sagging .I strung cable along side of light and attached the pulleys with zip ties.
Have you concidered a second light ?That is a lotta space for a 250 .Not to second guess you I am just courious how you came up with this set up ?Cant control heat from second light? That is only 20 watts per sq ft.Not enough light IMO .Dont mean to rain on yer parade .Best of luck

I dont think light movers are really useful for moving a light 3 feet. MJ cant use all light at once so by moving the light a little from side, you maximize exposure to all parts of the plant, while the other parts get a break.

I think 18" movement is probably what you want, not 6 feet

Cannabis would benefit more from having two lamps on that rail. This would give you the 18 inches for each bulb if it were put in right. Or something to that effect. Either way, 6 ft is way to far for one bulb to move.

crap! that sinks my plans but better to be told about a bad plan now than to go through the expense of building a box that wont work...so i appreciate your foreknowledge.

Here's a couple of questions for you. First, since this is a scrog setup, i'm guessing that a 400 HPS wouldn't make a difference how long the box can be if I have to keep the width at 2'. Is this right?

Second, if the width is 2', how long should i make the box with a 250 HPS? I can only use one 250 because I'm renting a room and power is an issue.
