How do you separate seeds from weed?

Only copys of international cannagraphic magazine volume 1 work in my experience, no other magazine sift seeds better.

I had forgotten about using the card to work the material and free up the stubborn seeds. Or the open edge of a pack of papers when only busting a bud. Isn't that what a rolling tray is for?

Probably scaleable to a point. Moving the material uphill so the seeds can roll downhill. That remains with the seed is good stuff, why let it be gone with the wind like so much chaff?

There are videos how to make a cardboard version of hammerheads sorting machine on youtube... you just drop the plant matter in the seed fall and the fan blows all the lighter stuff like plant matter and premature seed off the side to a separate container... you shouldn't loose any material using a fan or you'll be making a huge mess too...

No I'm not affiliated with them. You will get better search results using bird seed cleaners. You can see from my previous post I use a full size unit. I clean thousands of seeds.. My unit was made to clean bird seeds of any size, it works perfectly..

dry the buds......crush the buds .....roughly sort by hand removing as much bud material as possible then put the seed/bud mix in a large bowl..........i use a fan on the lowest setting to blow away all the plant material ..leaving only the seeds .............certainly very quick!! you can process a large amount in seconds !! ...........just obviously don't have the fan on to high a setting or the seeds will blow to .............do this in a small grow tent or a large cardboard box .......easily to clean up then !!

Put the L.P. on an incline and rake your weed up. The seeds will roll down just like 1974.

Today I really tried to faciliate seed cleaning. But it's not that easy. I tried different kinds of sieves, but the mesh were too fine or too wide. I tried a fan, but all I got was a big mess. I tried different kinds of bowls to remove at least a big part of the weed, which worked up to a certain degree, what means, there is still much weed left among the seeds which gather on the bottom of the bowl.

...Moving the material uphill so the seeds can roll downhill....
...on a high gloss magazine worked best for me. The seeds roll much more easy over the high gloss surface than the weed. Just moving or shaking the material on the magazine make the seeds rolling downhill leaving the weed behind. When I clean the seeds roughly in a bowl first and use a high gloss magazine in follow this definitely speeds up work.

The coarser paper helps keep the material at the top as you shake and card it back up. I think a box top works better.

Old school worked, and you still have the shake instead of blowing it to the wind.

I tried to find a YouTube vid on how we did it back in the day using a double album cover. I couldn't find any.

Water-

a frisbie is the best thing to use for the panning method.

bulk i dry it out crispy and shake the plant over a tarp

I still have a 80 gallon can full of seeded hemp from last years seed run to sort for this years planting, Been doing all the described methods, too slow and tedious for larger jobs.. the fan does work, just put 3 or 4 containers in front of fan and drop material down slowly in front so that the containers catch it. Container's I use are from those storage tubs..

Eventually I will build a machine like HammerHeads,,

Edit - re-read original post, 2 ounces, just pick em out, those disposable aluminum tins for cooking turkeys with a old credit card at an angle on your lap work well too.. even a paper plate will do..

I was about to post this same link!
That thing works great to get the job done quick

The right screen sizes work great.

This sieve is great. Next run I will get one of these. I found an offer with 1mm, 2mm and 3mm mesh, which seems to be perfect. Will try next time for sure. But now I'm nearly done with seed cleaning.

When I just picked out the seeds one by one I needed about 90 minutes for my first plant. I have seven plants what means more than 10 hours seed picking.

Using a bowl and a high gloss magazine I need a bit more than half an hour for one plant, what means still three and a half hour or maybe four, which is still a waste of life time, but better than ten hours.

Building a professional seed cleaner would be exaggerated. I breed seeds this and then just for my own stash and no big amounts. I don't want to trade my seeds nor do I want to feed the birds.
But plans and links are bookmarked. Germany is waiting for legalization. Elections are fall 2021.

I have always wondered how old timers did the 'album separation'.
Did you put the buds between two records and rubbed it together or something?

Came here to see if anyone was using a vibrating table at an angle.

It's how I separate anything that rolls from anything that doesn't roll.

I might just be stupid.. dunno.

By breaking the weed up on the cover, tilting the whole thing on an angle, and gently sifting through the weed with your fingers. The seeds just roll out of it.
