you have to strip the wire on a 12v dc adapter and connect the wires from your fan to the ones on the adapter and plug in the adapter.

If you have any AT power supplies They work the best. Multiple lines good current output.

computer power supply. But yeah just take a convertor(those big boxy plug things) and read it. Kepping on reading as much as you can until you find a 12v output one. Now cut the end off so you have a long wire attached to the plug. The red wire on your fan connects to the wire on the converter with a stripe. then connect the remaining 2 wires together. If done right your fan will spin, if not you just burnt out the motor. These fans usually only work 1 way.

Yep, it's safe, as long as you're not silly about it. Wire nuts, and don't play with wires that are plugged in :)

well that depends on the charger
some phones use low voltage like 4 - 5v and a low amp rating (few hundred Ma)
others are 12 - 14v and sometimes over 1a output
the latter are Ok to run the fan's from a PC as they require 12v and about 500Ma - 1a to run depending on the model

I recommend an old AT or ATX power supply from a PC though as it has the correct output
and are built to run for long period's
phone adapters get very hot and are a possible fire hazard if there running higher
than there designed use

better safe than sorry

yes you can use a phone charger or a AT or ATX power supply but keep in mind that if you use a power supply from a computer(AT/ATX) that you most likely have to keep it in your grow cab thus raising the temps in your cab and as many of us have found out the heat from the light can be hard enough to deal with never mind adding more heat to the cab. If you are going to use a cell phone charger make sure that both the fan and the charger are rated for the same volts, also like GotTheBlues said when wiring your fan red fan wire connects to black with white stripe charger wire if done wrong better head down to radio shack and buy another fan.

The adapter you need will have to have the same on it ,the amp(1000ma)
can be higher.
The adapter must be 240v input dc 12v output

thats why the other one burned out it was for 120 input

Use the 300 it will only use the amount of power the fan needs when running
