´How do I find back all the spots? but without GPS.

Hi Y'all.

For this year I got a couple of tens of thousends of auto seeds to play with and that are ment for sinsimilla in outdoors.

They ain't no breeders, so large quantity is where I will be going for.

With these seeds I also don't want to carry large amounts of home made soil to their spots, so just a liter of soil per spot to get them germinated should do.

The spots to be planted should follow an irregular pattern so it will go unnoticed by helicopters and ultra light aircraft.

I probably will do 50 seeds per 1liter of soil and then cull down to whatever looks best, and the number of spots to be made can go into the hundreds. (untill the engergy or mood to do so gives in)

On our poor soil in here I expect not more to get then some 5 gr per plant on average this way, but it is ment for sinsimilla so I would have to be certain to retrieve all the males.

The thing is that I plan on doing much to much to remember all of my spots by heart, so I was thinking to map their locations by means of coordinates in my noteblock.

Practically maybe not so much the k7 or b6 type of coordinates but more like coordinates that are using the x and y lines. (like a1,a2, a3, etc.
I reckon that "while in the field" only the lettered y-line is importend to walk up and down, allthough on the map I will also have to note their numbered x-line .( y-line as in a1,a2, a3, etc. up to 20 whereas every coordinate equals 1 mtr times 1 mtr.)

So in the field I could rectangularly plant 4 stakes in the ground that are some 20 times 10 meters apart.
These 4 stalks would then represent the outlines of my "sink the navy" field.(whereas the "ships" equal "my spots".)

What do you think of this methodical way of getting 100% certainty on retrieving all males?

Any other reasonable suggestions I'd rather like to hear too, but only oldschool and no high tec shit please, I even would not want to own a cell phone as a matter of fact, so thank you for your sugestions in advance. ^^

Kite string? , or someone could pick it up and find all your plants :)

But the principle of it sounds good, well, then maybe a dotted line of twiggs and branches might be a good idea. A bit like in Hansel & gretel but without the bread ?

Maybe too obvious to notice for pilots ?

sarcasm transmits poorly on the internet. the kitestring thing is not a serious suggestion.

i have had mebe a dozen guerrilla crops ripped or otherwise eradicated in about 20 years.
the only successive way to ensure you reap what you sow is to be sure there is zero trail from one plant to the next. and of course to be able to sacrifice a few spots.

Well Ganja, As I said> the principle of it could actually work in here.

My situation is that I live in northern scandinavia and that I happen to grow in freshly clearcutted pine forest where everything looks all the same.

There will be plenty of pine twiggs and branches all over the place. Kinda like a mat covering the surface of the soil.

So if I would place those branches in an "only for me" recogniseble position from one plant to another, like a bit vertical or so, hell, no one would notice my trickery and your sarcasm actually did serve a purpose ? lol.

I will be keeping that one in mind mate :) Thanks for your suggestion!

Yeh I know IceBear, but there are some ultra light aircraft enthiousts & rescue choppers flying damn low over my area of choice each year, so I need to be cautious yanno.

I am situated in " Lesta" country wich is a type of highly reproductive & enlightened 'religion nuts' type of ppl that would rather consider my precious plants the work of the "Devil" and turn them over to authorities. Kinda similar to what they did to Jezus, hehe

:D

But thanks for you optimism Ice bear. :)

Hey it's you again. :)

You are the one with the Ultra light aircraft license aye? seems you know what you are talking about.

Nice & interesting piece of info Mr. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and try not give em a reason to look for rescue operations right besides my plants. :)

But there are some new building projects right near the place were I was growing too this year, so I do expect some exeptional interest in the surroundings.

Yeah ultra bright red object running in the forrest can grab someones attention but plants naaahh, dull colored clothes not moving naahh.

I'd love to see some youtube clip from a helicopter actually searching for dope but there ain't no to many out there that can compare with my peticular situation.

Clips from Barry Cooper were the second next best thing I've seen thus far.

Why are you afraid of gps? With a cheap android phone there are so many ways to achieve your goal. You could log your journey with one of the numerous free "apps"..and re-trace your route with a live "radar" type app with full confidence. If your worried about security...save your "map" on SD card and hide it in your shed (its the size of a sim card....). Or encypt it

You cant be that afraid of technology my friend. If you can work a laptop you can work a android smartphone. What you fear is the learning curve and the frustration of all these words and gadgets. But I tell you with certainty .. within 30 mins your average teenager (or good buddy who needs an excuse to come and see you) can show you how its done.

Land mark to land mark. Start in one spot. Pick a landmark out, write it down, along with a direction and description. Walk there and plant seeds nearby. Then repeat the process till your done.

My opinion.
Taking care of and checking for males in such a large # of plants is very hard to do. A few very well cared for plants will far out weigh the waste of time/energy/seeds your describing of subjecting yourself to.

Thanks for your input Bro.

& I'm familiar with the line of work so no worries there Bro ;)

It's just that if some individual plant prooves superior to others... I will still be able to pollinate it.^^
Beats dumping them in the trash wha? Besides, I never claimed to be a lazy person, hehe :D
