How Coca Cola Affects Your Body In 60 Minutes

I wouldn't even use that filth to clean my gutters, even though it would probably work great for that.
They are an evil multi national, see the rates of oesophagal cancer probably caused by acid reflux from the gassy pop. See also the poisoned water supplies in Indian villages, chemical spills and general massive contribution to obesity as their legacy.

I've been drinking soda since I've cut back on beer.honestly soda makes me sick.what with the high fructose corn syrup, sugar and caffeine and all.no wonder that shit is bad for you.if i drank as much soda as i did beer i would probably be dead by now.i really believe that

I'm not into sugar pop (that's what they call soda up here) but there are many brands going 'old school' (they call throwback) with straight sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

My mom died at 93. She ate milk chocolate every day, she never missed a dessert or a snack, she loved to fry everything. My dad lived to be 97 and smoked cigars and ate and drank like a king. My maternal grandmother died at 94 and my maternal grandfather died at 90 when he fell off a ladder trimming his fig tree. My paternal grandmother died at 93. My paternal grandfather was 96. They all ate and drank what they wanted and they never exercised except for activities of daily living.

My brother died at 47 in a car accident. He was a jogger and got killed by an old guy who had a heart attack at the wheel. IRONY?

I can drink as much coca-cola as I want and I am still making it to 90.

So if I swallow a fiber pill and a vitamin before I chug a coke it would be the same as an apple?

The fiber in an apple does not keep it from spiking your sugar level. Go look at a diabetic website. They warn about fresh fruit spiking sugars. They say limit it and eat more complex sugars.

Pay attention what you eat and quit warning others about stuff you think they need to worry about when actually they don't.

The odds of anybody dying before they are 80 years old regardless of what they eat is low.

How freaking long do some of you want to live? Live your life and be happy. For the most part your timeline has been genetically set.

Enjoy the time you have.

Lol we call it pop too Stoner! I know they have more "natural"pop out there but they dont sell it by me.

And yeah,it is mostly genetics iTarzan, but that doesnt mean people should eat and drink whatever they want when they want.i recently lost both my grandparents.they were both 77.they ate whatever the hell they wanted too.my grandmother smoked like a chimney for over sixty years.drank pepsi for probably longer.the night before she died, they found out she had lung cancer.hadnt been to a doctor in fifty years.if she would have taken better care of herself i think she would be alive today.

So yeah genetics play a big part but that goes out the window when 99% percent of what we eat is poisoned.and dont give me that "everything is carcinogenic" crap either.carcenogens are natural.artificial sweeteners and preservatives are not

Max,
I remember when you were the spokesperson for New Coke back in the day when that came out.

Yeah, I've pretty much cut soda out of my diet in the last few years. I'm trying teach my son that the stuff's no good for ya as he grows up.

We did the thing when you soak a tooth in coke overnight, and it really does do some serious damage.

For calories that is true but apples have fiber and other stuff that blocks the sugar from spiking your blood sugar real fast. Soda is like mainlining the sugar.

I just had a couple sips of soda btw.:) I just do not chug it and limit the amount per day.

As to Buffet looking like he is 900 years old, well take a look at your self at 84 and see if you look any better.

It takes 10 grams of fiber to block a blood sugar increase by about 25%. Looking at a honeycrisp apple it has about 3.3 grams of fiber. The kicker is if you want fiber to help stop blood sugar from rising you need to take it before you have sugar not during. So this doesn't work as well as you think.

Guess my apple comparison was not very good. But Buffet is still kickin, got that right.

The average person eating like he does into old age would suffer for it, I am sure. There is a line where you go from enjoying life and get over it a little and you make yourself suffer.

Soda is not that horrifying and even cigs. The whole problem is addiction and overuse.

They should just ban the production of all fizzy drinks, there is absolutely no reason to drink that shit. The companies are poisoning you and making a profit.

From what it said on the back of the can of pepsi, it said it had around 18% of glucide(glucose) daily intake, this says 100 %

I drink some pop when im working, i work in a pizza parlour, and it seems with pizza, pepsi is better. It helps digestion. I do plan to stop it and I think this thread was a reminder of the effects of such consumptions. I drink 1 or 2 cans max. I work there 2-3 nights a week.

They just announced a ban in some stores for some kids fruit juice drinks here in UK... (ribena , Capri sun )
I was puzzled why, but I just found out that 1 200ml carton has more sugar than a coke , and even more than a mars bar.

Stealth sugar !!

I stick to coffee, much nicer... Plus sodas generally give me heartburn

I hate it when the government gets involved in our lives, but this might be a good thing. Drink's like Capri Sun shouldn't even qualify as "juice".

Coca Cola 140 calories 39 grams of carbs

2 medium apples 144 calories 40 grams of carbs

The carbs are sugar.

Fresh fruit is a fast acting sugar just like Coca-Cola.

This will be like chemical and organic fertilizers debate. Plants don't care. Your body doesn't know the difference between fast acting sugars in coke and table sugar or fruit and honey.

discuss......

Yup your right. This is sort of what my fathers diabetes doctor was telling him. He did say watermelon is ok though if he wanted something sweet.

You are right there.
At first I thought it was just the fruit sugar.... But on the ingredients, added sugar is the second largest ingredient after water.
