When my grow was up, it was right next door to a big family of Sri Lankans. They stunk up the whole block with curry cooking and incense, and those funky 'extra' odors that sometimes appeared during end flower high summer grows were automatically blamed on them. People used to tell me how funny their place smelled, while I played the diplomat.
"Well you know, it's their culture, don't be hard on them for being different", etc.

Rosy, that is too funny haha. You sure lucked out there. As for my nearest neighbors, 8 feet from house to house. Feeling this one out still so no herb for the time being.

I have one neighbor and an empty house. the neighbors and i are 20 feet away and the empty house has had an attempted AC theft and i stopped the two dudes who cut the power to it by letting my dogs out, now i get a police roll by daily, im a legal caregiver and my veg stinks more than my flower at times. cops have been in my grow and in my greenhouse, checked paper work and left with a handshake and a thank you for being a good citizen and protecting the neighborhood. if your in a legal state it might be better off knowing the police and them knowing you as i have not been ripped since and that was 6 years ago. keep it low key and just dont talk about it, simple. wrong thread by still useful info i think.

Right on about the same distance here, most neighbors are farther, but this guy is a real ass that would make noises or do other things to antagonize you just cuz he can, he has this noisy ass vehile that sounds like the apocalypse every time he goes up or down the road with his blue headlights of his. He punched me in the stomach as a kid while pretending to show me a book I might like. And now he is a selectman, I have to get out of this shit for brains town I am in! Point is, other neighbors are farther but this SOB would rat me out for kicks if he had the chance even though he might very well grow himself. Actually all my neighbors are like that, enigmas, to a lesser extent.
More like assholes.

totally, exactly and right on man! I lived here, moved out then lived here again. I am familiar with the neighbors and surroundings for like 32+ years now. This town never changes, once surrounded by assholes always here it seems! That asshole I mentioned is closer to me. But there are several others too. I could go into a whole lot more details but would be putting a bullseye on my back in the process. Suffice it to say, I am surrounded by 4 houses of assholes, 2 semi-assholes, and 6 that would probably be assholes if I knew them better! Here's to home prices going up so I can move!

Far away. And the local dumbasses like to shoot a lot just for kicks (not that I'm against it), set large bonfires, set off explosions and other stupid shit that attracts attention to themselves. Meanwhile I keep it cool and low profile!
