how can I cut glass?

Any idea? I have an old bong I'm looking to make into a bho tube for running kief

A diamond tipped saw of some kind? under water?

any help is appreciated

i think you are out of luck bongs are usually have pretty thick glass too

^^^The glass drilling thread. Though since you're doing something different, I guess you need a different tool, like the disc shaped dremel bit(diamond coated if possible). Running water over it while drilling is necessary, or so I'm told. Make sure to wear goggles and a face mask to prevent inhaling glass dust.

I don't know what you mean by "running keif." If it's extracting keif from bud, they have grinders for that, or if it's to keep the bud intact, I'd imagine a lottery type spinning machine would work. It's just a cylindrical mesh tube that you can spin by hand or motor. I think there's a thread on that too, but I forgot the title/am too lazy.

Funny.. its not as dramatic as all that. Glass is strong because of its surface tension. Break that surface tension with a scratch and you have substantially weakened that point. Tap it with something hard [ like a wooden dowel ] and it will snap off where you scratched it.

Awesome idea, I appreciate the help.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out. I plan to have a double blown glass tube about 1 1/2 inch wide and 12 inch long. A medical grade? rubber stopper in one end, with coffee filters / hose clamp on the other.

Will it snap off very jagged? or a nice smooth cut like I'm looking for?
I guess it may depend on how deep you file the surface?

actually, theres a youtube video that demonstartes you can actually cut glass with a pair of scissors as long as its under water.. what makes glass shatter is its high resonance, if you sumberge it in water, the resonance dissipates and you can cut it with scissors..
