Blue, I was thinking on the same lines as that. I'm glad to see the small amount of people, makes for a better time. I'm bringing a virgin smoker with me. I finally talked my sis into trying it. I'm taking her there for a B-day present, part of the reason I would like to snag judges passes. I want her to smoke some of the best. But either way it's going to be fun watching her stoned.

Looking forward to meeting her Bones! I don't advise you to buy a Judges pass for her though, if she just started smoking its going to be VERY difficult for her to get through the 40 or more strains she'll be required to test in a three day period...buy her a Guest Pass and yourself a Judges Pass, you can smoke with her and she'll feel much better knowing that when she's had enough she can just say "no thanks". Not to mention the fact that if she's new to smoking weed she won't be able to judge....she has no basis or knowledge to go by in giving a "vote" to what she smokes. :wink:

Blue, the cup and going to the dam this year was my bday treat as well (would have fallen exactly on my bday whilst i was out there) and now i discover i cant go, noooooo... Still, i'll watch how everyone here did and i hope to see plenty of piccies to. Instead, i'll make sure i've got some bud to smoke on my bday, will roll some up and just close my eyes imagining Gypsys shop and all the wonders and people that surround it

Bones, I think you made a wise decision. Not only will you save $200 buying two guest passes, but from what I hear from last year, you'll have no problems sampling the entries anyway, joints get passed around ya know :wink:

We'll light one up with your sis on the 420 boat while we're doing the coffeeshop judging jamboree...Guest Pass holders do get to vote for the best coffeeshop as well as glass art and the "Products" category which includes everything from cannabis in edible form to new smoking inventions

Oh I'd have to disagree with you just a bit on that blue :wink: We are expecting entries worldwide, many from the USA and Canada....from both independent growers and from Breeders, and those varieties are definitely not to be found on any of the coffee shop menus in the dam.

Also, judge packets are being distributed in a better manner this year, i.e., the proper amount for each judge to score, instead of too much so that the judge couldn't smoke it all. Therefore we have more judges this year than last.

But you are correct when you said 40 samples is a bit much to judge in 3 days...think I read something to that effect....anyway, that is why we will begin distributing judge packages on the 16th and urge all those who have purchased a judge pass or are waiting on one to keep that in mind as this will give judges more time to do a leisurely assessment instead of feeling hurried.

Dutch id like to apolagize for callin ya gypsy in that other thread again lol,

So arriving early mornin the 18'th wont be a problem, correct? id love to get there the 16'th but its really just not possible. I dont feel that 2-3 days is a problem for testing all that :wink:

Im really excited about the first part of what you said. I didnt realize that the samples came from so many places abroad. How many samples you think there will be this year Dutch?

thanks for making that clear Dutch, and I know, the strains to be judged will be particularly interesting....but sooner or later I'm hoping someone's gonna pass me a joint . If nothing else minister said I could sit next to him and breathe his fumes

I think I'd keel over half way through the first day if I bought a Judges Pass, and though I seriously thought about going ahead and doin' it when I was on Seedbay ready to click my way into paradise, I resisted the impulse - and it was not easy let me tell ya :wink:

Dutch: Will the amounts to be judged this year be similar to what we got last year? I think the sample sizes last year were of the perfect amount. It was enough for a sample and if you really liked a particular one you had enough left to share it with someone.
