Hot Spicy Coco

Hi, how are ya!

The other day I made some chocolate using the THC4MS recipe. So today I felt for some hot coco, and thought that this would make for a good base. I threw some milk in a pot and turned up the heat a little, added a nice piece of coco and let it melt into the milk. Then added stick cinnamon, star anise, a pinch of cardamom, a dash of nutmeg and some cloves. Almost forgot, sugar to sweeten, of course. Then I let it simmer for some time while stirring on occasion before I strained. Came out real nice, hot spicy coco. The original chocolate used was 75% cocoa this round. Other herbs, such as black pepper or vanilla might work well for this recipe too.:canabis:

You almost made "Mughal Garam Masala" which is an north Indian spice mixture-...:chin:

From Classic Indian Cooking by Julie Sahni:

1/2 cup black or 1/3 cup green (recomended) cardomom pods-remove seeds
2 cinnamon sticks 3"
1 tbsp. whole cloves
1 tbsp. black peppercorns
1 1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg

Grind to a fine powder.

I make spiced hot cocoa all the time with the above mixture, I use shaved Callebaut block dark bittersweet chocolate and steamed milk. It is *SO GOOD* ahh.

Nice Buddy! Next time Ill give your recipe a go. Thanks for adding, perfect to get an idea about measurements in as I just made it up as I went along.

Yeah the measurements are nice the first few times you try making the mixture, after that I pretty much just use it as a guideline, gonna put more cinnamon and less clove in next time, those cloves can overpower it easily. Also, I just toss the nutmeg whole into the grinder (blade coffee grinder), easier that way. Made it with whole spices at first but now I use ground and pretty much let the spices just settle to the bottom of the cocoa cup, they release their flavors fast when ground.
