Hornet's 250W Insulated Attic Cab (First Grow!)

Triumph? Now I know you're nutz. :D Do they still have the rear brake on the left? The old ones scared the @#$%* out of me cause I could never remember where the brake was. :friends:

Luckily, my shifter and rear brake are right where you think they should be...

I recently rode an old trident with the brake on the left though... it was too much of a new trick for this old dog.:nono:

Bout the only thing worse was an old Cushman. It had a circular tranny for lack of a better term. You could shift directly from 5th to 1st. yoiks!

Rooster in the Hen House

Rooster in the Hen House

I went hunting for sex today, and I found some...my luck though...it was a dude!

Actually, found the first male in my six unsexed plants. I'm glad this plant was one of the males, it was a weird pheno that was seemed slower growing with thicker fan leaves and less bud sites.

I'm one week into flower and I'm happy for the extra room. The remaining ladies need more space and light.

First two pics are of his balls (ball?) That is a ball right? (I've never seen a ball before IRL, just pics, remember I'm a growing virgin...)

Third pic is of me about to get medieval on his ass! :spank:

Looks like a male to me. Saw your link to the nest from your post in my diary thread. Had to check it out and glad I did. Very nice and well planned. I will be stopping in from time to time to check on your progress. Best of luck!

I'll tell ya what I did do...

I picked the tops off the plant with a few tender fan leaves...

I chopped that up and quick dryed it on the dehydrator setting of my stove...

I mixed in a little bit of thyme...

And I put it in my new toy...

Not exactly top notch taste or potency, but three vape bags got me comfortably numb.

Day 16 of Flower

Day 16 of Flower

I was only planning on keeping three, but I ended up with four of my six being girls. Could have worse problems I guess:eek:

I was going to repot after sexing, but four larger pots just won't fit. I'm not too concerned, after de-potting the males, I know I'm not near being root bound.

Just for the hell of it, I added 150Watt equivalent Cool White CFL. It hasn't raised my temp at all, and more light equals more bud (I hope!).

The rest of the pics are of my girls today... :canabis:

As always, thanks to everyone for stopping by and commenting. :ying:

Not much to report, my little girls are just getting bigger everyday

They are increasingly starting to lose lower fan leaves (I'm not alarmed yet, the canopy is so thick that the bottom of the plant gets very little light).

I've found that they are needing more water and I've let them get a little too thirsty a couple of times. (I am probably too concerned with overwatering). I'm also getting an occasional brown spot here or there, but I think it's just from water spotting near the lights.

I'm thinking about repotting into rectangular pots (read "trash cans"), but I don't want to fix something that's not broken...any opinions?

Anyway, talk is cheap...here are the visuals!

Lookin' mighty fine there, Hornet!
Things keep going that way, and you will have plenty of good herbs to keep you nice and happy.

Great job man!

Everything looks really good Hornet. You don't have to re-pot them just do wats called a passive hydro system which is just bottom feeding.

Just read through:)

Thanks Joch, I take pride in my work (although there are a lot of grows on here that put mine to shame :badday:).
Good luck on your redo. I think that is a very common mistake made by beginners...just putting some seeds in a cup with no idea what to do if the plants grow. Regardless, it's all a big learning experience.

Good suggestion Inpot. I checked out your grow thread...you've had some good success yourself...keep it up.

I hope so hoosier...I've decided that I'm not buying herbs ever again. That decision has made waiting all the harder...every day I have to talk myself out of taking an early sample. Thanks for the compliment! :jump:

Nice grow, love your setup, very thorough, well thought out and well built. Fully insulated too, one of the cleanest boxes I've ever seen, newb or otherwise. And your plants are showing their appreciation too.

I'll be following how you keep those ladies tied down. Your box in metric is roughly 80x40x110 cm. I'm guessing you give up 20 cm height for the light, then another 10cm between the buds and the glass shield, plus up to 20cm for the pots and soil. If so you'd be aiming for plants about 60cm tall, or 2 foot, perhaps a tad taller.

I have a bit less width to work with, but about the same height. I'll probably only have 2 or 3 plants though, depends if 1 or both of the skush turn out to be female. Also, I bought grapefruit on the recommendation of the seedshop owner, was told it was a good indoor plant, not too stretchy, when in fact the complete opposite is true, lol, so I have to tame the beast. I've already started LST'ing and will probably scrog too, at least the GF. Might be able to garner a few tricks off your grow, even if the strains are different.

I'm also using 1.6 gallon pots and am wondering whether to repot or not. Right now I'm probably leaning towards not, but if both skush are male the decision will be difficult not to revisit, lol.

A couple of questions, has the stretch since you flipped to 12:12 stopped or slowed yet? And how many good sized side shoots are there on the plants, compared to smaller ones you might trim?

Jerry
