127 grams from a 2 gallon pot is a great yield but knowing how vigorously it grows I can imagine it needing water all the time in a 2 gallon pot. I’m growing one now in a 6 gallon pot and I don’t think that is nearly large enough. Another member posted recently here that he had one in a ten gallon pot and ended up with about 425 grams.
The Hon/Pan is such a vigorous grower and high yielder. I would think that in a 15 gallon pot and Scrogged you could easily yield 1.5 pounds. You would need to use the whole 4x4 tent to do it. Give it a big light, good food, plenty of space and you will have monster yielder.
I wasn't very clear... the current seeded plant is in a 2 gallon pot; it has stayed fairly short and makes me think 2 gallons is way too small for this strain. The one I just harvested (123 grams) was in a 5 gallon pot. It needed a full watering every other day. I used about 225 watts of light total and barely broke the 1.0 gram/watt benchmark this time, coming in at about 240 grams total.

You really did a great job with your first Honduras x Panama grow @Stoneroller :) The red/brown you have harvested first leans heavily towards the Honduran-Mexican phenos, the other looks more Panama Goddess dominant yet still has a bit of Honduran-Mexican influence, wish i could be there to smell them and evaluate more things. Great yield btw ;) Thank you so much for your frequent updates, much appreciated.

Love the coliseum indoor structure @tjmccoy :) Great main colas on your Honduras x Panama! Glad you are pleased so far at mid flowering with their aromas and performance. Please, post pics of each female if you have the chance and if you find big differences between them.

Regarding the feeding, they are extremely healthy and green, sligthly too high with nitrogen, but keep it strong with the PK until the end for best yields!

Even though I could not correct my minor feeding or balance issue, this plant is coming along beautifully. She smells delicious with the expected citrus musk but no Earl Gray black tea which I would have liked to get again. I guess that's why people keep cuts, hehe...

Buds came at the end very healthy and good looking @TexasTea :D Glad you managed to correct the imbalance issue during flowering, not easy to do that  This one looked very Panama like during the whole flowering, iirc previous your previous one was much more Honduran dominant, at least in the pictures. Enjoy friend!

Looks like I’m going to get quite a few bud sites. Is that what most people see from the P/H?

I think Dubi mentioned this one needing intense light. That being said I think your yield was great considering it wasn’t under intense light. Intense enough obviously because I think your yield was great and shows the potential of the strain.
I get the feeling that this strain would produce more and more as the light intensity grew and pot size grew. I could see this one going crazy with the right veg. time, plenty of food for a long time if going organic 15 to 20 gallon, big light and plenty of room to grow. If you loved this plant and wanted to dedicate enough resources to see just far you could push it for yield, I think you’d have a very productive grow.
One member has achieved around 15 ounces in a ten gallon pot. I’m really impressed with the vigor of this plant. I’ve low stressed trained it, topped it three times and did some super cropping on the ten longest branches. Tied those long branches down to the bamboo and string cage I’ve put together and the thing is still nearly four feet tall. It handles stress well too.

Hey Dubi, Thanks so much for checking out my grow! Been dreaming of this grow for many years! It’s so exciting!

Btw loved the podcast interview on you tube, I’ve listened to it 3 times now!

I will be happy to post up some individual pics soon, with better light and background they are on week 8.5 now, they’ve used up the extra N and are eating up the P and K to the point it’s hard to keep up now! They are the heaviest feeders between the other zamaldelica and Malawi. 😎

I think people run into problems with heat if they try to have too much intensity in a small area. My pheno of Hon x Pan fem is fairly compact and doesn't stretch all that much. I would say it is a moderate stretcher only. That works well with medium light intensity like I probably have. If you wanted to have really long colas with a different pheno, more light intensity and penetration would be necessary. I also like having lights at different angles, usually one on each side and one in the middle. That probably increases efficiency over one stronger light of the same wattage, although some would probably disagree. If your scrog space is rectangular, I find 2 or 3 plants generally works better than one big plant right in the middle. Of course there could be other reasons for doing things, like trying to set a personal record for biggest plant ever or to take some cool photos or to have huge colas or whatever. The fat colas take a long time to dry properly, which is another possible downside of having a giant plant instead of two or three not quite so big. I'm sure it could yield a lot, if you wanted to try a giant plant. You could use a 30 gallon trash can if you wanted to, just veg it long enough. My pheno definitely seems to like some extra nitrogen during the first half or two-thirds of flowering. My impression is that yield suffers without that extra nitrogen, but I could be completely wrong about that. Prior to the last month of flowering, I was using Jack's Classic mixed to 15-25-20, which seems about right. I may reduce the nitrogen a week earlier next time. I switched to Fox Farm Big Bloom with a little added kelp fertilizer for the remainder of flowering, cutting out the kelp at the very end. Also - molasses for the last couple of weeks at least, which may or may not make a difference. Here is a photo of my plant right before harvest. It could have gone another 4 or 5 days, arguably, but I wanted to try taking it a little earlier than my last run with this plant. Early tests are positive.

Congrats on the harvest of your second Honduras x Panama run johnnylawrence :D You did a great job with her despite the problems with the soil, such a good harvest :hotbounce Hope it provides great moments during this first half of 2023. Honduras x Panama crossed with Mango Haze/C99 sounds indeed like a sativa hybrid of great potential

She’s turning super purple with the low temps we’ve had. Indoors this same cut had a lemon smell to it. Outdoors it has a hint of lemon, but a really strong smell like my purple Honduras did last year.

Wow @Cactus Squatter :p what a beauty! She looks like straight Purple Honduran-Colombian pheno, what a difference in the outcome vs indoors. The purple cobs look very special, out of this world! Enjoy friend!

Happy to see you growing H x P this outdoor season! @BillyStoker :D She is big and has a robust, branchy structure! Guess you are in the southern hemisphere, right ?
Yep Southern Hemisphere with a Mediterranean type climate. I’ve never grown this type outdoors before so it’ll be interesting to see how it performs

My pheno was so stretchy that 2 plants would not fit in a 4x4 tent like mine. With my pheno two plants in a Scrog in my 4x4 would have the branches intertwined and would be unmanageable. Doing only one plant with this pheno in a 4x4 would be a practical choice.
Many people think you need many plants to get a good yield. Most times that is the case but in this case more is not necessary or better. A fellow grower got 15oz. from one plant in a ten gallon pot. Potential for huge yields is there. Besides taking care of only one plant makes for a low maintenance and easy care grow. Also who doesn’t like cool photos and massive yields?😎
I use a bar light type of light that covers my whole space. It‘s a 650 watt light and is perfect for a 4x4. Yes of course you can get too much light for a given space and cause heat problems. I was simply stating that this plant does best with and likes intense light.

Regarding the number of plants, one can fill a SCROG faster with numerous plants versus a single plant. So if a number of seeds / cuts is not an issue, time and electricity can be saved with shorter veg time and multiple plants.

I personally also enjoy some variation, and when mainly growing from fem seeds, i like to go with two plants in the 2x4, bending other more to the left and the other more to the right. It saves me veg time and i get to enjoy two phenos. And they are also sharing the same pot, so they won't feel so lonely! 😂 Possibly there is some kind of root interraction between the plants also, but i do not know much about that. Trees are known to support their offspring via root connections if i remember correctly, but with cannabis I don't think it goes like that.

I also like a variety of plants in my tent so I have a variety of smoke. That’s one of the reasons I said that my next grow would be multiple varieties in smaller pots. The other reason is that I have a backlog of seeds that I’m eager to grow. I don’t personally like to grow in smaller pots for many reasons but to get to some of these strains I want to grow, it’s my only choice considering my long limited grow space. I can’t grow ten big plants in a 4x4.

This pheno of this strain would not take very long to fill out a 4x4 tent. After early low stress training, topped three times and super cropped, it was still 4 feet wide in all corners in about 12 days of stretching. If I’d have done no training at all, I think filling a 4x4 with this one plant would have been, very, very easy to do.

If you love this plant and would like to have a long term stash , unless you are turning it all into hash, wouldn’t that be great, then you could have an easy grow by having to only take care of one plant and get a tremendous yield of high quality smoke. I’m commenting on the great potential of this plant for great yields if someone wants to consider doing that. I’m not saying that is the only way to grow it or the best way. I’m commenting on the potential yield of this strain and that it would be relatively easy to maximize that yield if that is what one wishes to do.

Hell I have a friend who puts 20 pots in a 4x4. Not my cup of tea but he digs it. More power to him. Anybody can grow any way they like. No right or wrong. You do you.

I shared clones of her with 4 friends this year and everyone loves it. I keep telling them to stay out of it since it was just picked last month and be patient, it gets way better, but… 😂 every day one of them tells me how pleasant it is.
Sad to say we let the mother go this year so this particular one is gone, but I’m planning on cracking another couple of them soon. I also made F2 with her and a super tall male in 2021 that some friends are going to run this year outdoors.

Thanks again!

Intensity (PPD) is a function of distance. Having a few lights that you can position where you want has advantages in terms of tweaking "intensity" as the plant perceives it. I have a smaller cab (2 square feet) that I sometimes use for vegging or flowering. It has a 32 watt old-style LED panel and usually two 23w CFLs. That's 78 watts total. I've pulled as much as 2 1/2 ounces from this cabinet using only 78 watts, and it's usually very high quality because everything stays nice and cool, and the light is even dispersed. Here is a recent run from this cab, last summer, right before I started working with Ace genetics. First pic is at harvest, second pic is a handful of cured buds today, third pic shows density/weight (yes, I should clean my scale with some alcohol). This particular run was just shy of 2 ounces. You don't need a "badass" light to have good results. My first light was a 1000 watt metal halide (eons ago), and that was way more than I needed at the time although I didn't know it. People have been complaining that the newest white LEDs don't produce trichomes with proper heads, don't get you high, etc., so who knows. It's definitely better to have things on the cool side if you want the nicest final product, perhaps at the cost of a bit of extra yield. Hon x Pan is half Panama, genetically, and Dubi has stated that Panama can do well under moderate light, so it stands to reason that at least some phenos of Hon x Pan probably don't have the light intensity requirements of a pure Honduras. My pheno doesn't grow tall like a corn plant (like a pure Honduras). I'd rather have 8 ounces of something that smells really nice (grown nice and 'cool' like a Hawaiian or Columbian mountaintop) than 10 or even 12 ounces of something lesser. It's priorities and personal preference in the end. Don't be afraid to experiment with CMH or other types of light in addition to your LED panel.
