Hightimes cannabis cup

Just wanting to get everyone's opinion on the hightimes cannabis cup these days as it seems like its more and more about how much money they can make and who you are and who you know rather than who has the best buds,wax,etc. Which is a shame that things have evolved to this level!! In my personal opinion we need to get away from the hightimes cannabis and start a new cup that it's proceeds are used in the communitys for children and ppl who need meds but are less fortunate and can not afford them..can you imagine how many children could be helped if all the profits of from a cup were used to get them the meds they needed instead of lining ppls pockets that already have lined pockets!!I understand that costs are involved in these cups but lots of profits are made and those profits should be returned to the community where these cups take place..this is just my personal opinion and want to see what others thoughts are on the subject.

Not a huge fan of the High Times cups. Usually very crowded and a little pricey.
Nice if you're there for specific seed co. or vendor I guess.
Getting seeds straight from the breeder at a better price with no shipping is awesome.

Not sure on the new hype strain I've been waiting for something to kill the cookies craze as I've grown a few cuts and there some dank but not on my top taste list like this SourDubble I'm growing right now. And they cup is a great place to network meet cool ppl hang out and have a great time but we need a cup that gives back to the community's and the ppl in them that need it!!! Like the ppl that has fought for this country and came back either physically or mentally incapable of doing for themselves,or those children suffering from seizures on a daily basis!!!I dnt hear of hightimes giving a helping hand,but they have there hand out at that gate taking your money!!!all I'm saying is we need a cup that give back to the ppl in these communities!!!

Late 15' was the starting of an "orange" craze, so I think part of this year will be all about "orange" strains. Then as summer rolls around, something will take the place of "orange" strains.

Hightimes can KMA. They have become big corporate sellouts. Probably in bed with the big pharm companies/advertising money. They just up and abandoned their Amsterdam HTCC. They are all about the almighty dollar now and in truth always have been. I bought their magazine every month religiously since the 1980's. Never again will I ever buy that rag. I could whole heartedly support a new "Cup"/Breeders/Growers Cup" that was non-profit. With profits going to help our veterans/wounded/sick people in the community. Also a "Cup" like this should be independantly judged so that big money does not buy their win/make it fair to all entries.

High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam 2014 was a giant clusterfuck.

I did not make the 2014 Cup in Amsterdam but heard it was majorly FUBAR. I was at the 2010 Cup which was awesome. I was also at the 2011 which was good. But the last day of the expo the cops busted and were confiscating all your weed as you were leaving. Everyone sat down and tried to smoke all they had before leaving. Ended up smoking more in about 30 minutes probably about 10 grams. Good fun! The last Cup I attended was 2013 and it was alright although much smaller than the previous Cups. Writing was on the wall that the HTCC in Amsterdam was over. I heard there was not even an expo at the 2014 Cup.
We need a independant Cup for a good cause/non-profit.
I would love to attend the IC420 Cup but it is almost impossible for me to get off work in April. I bet Amsterdam is awesome in the springtime.

I worked the 710Cup one year with a guy who has been organizing the HTCC for many many years. Sadly, he told me events are all about the benjamins. Wonder if professional sports are real?

Yea as the cannabis community continues to grow we need to do something ta push these cups out and new cups in that are geared to help the people in the community that they take place,there could be so many children,veterans,and others that could benefit from these types of events if they were non profit,and used they profits earned to help these less fortunate families in these communities!! I for one as I'm sure many of you would sleep slot better knowing that your $ helped child,veterans and many many others!!! Just my 2 cents..
