More like midgrade "all looks no kick" strains have flooded the market.

The legal guys can't grow high testing strains so they try to create fear around them. Figures!

It's kind of par for the course that as cannabis is legalized, there'll be more studies showing something detrimental for some percentage of the population. There's already some evidence for increased access to cannabis and emerging psychoses. The thing is, it isn't Reefer Madness, but for people with underlying undiagnosed psychosis, cannabis may not necessarily be a good thing. On the other hand, the percentage of the population at risk? Not all that large. But probably a population more likely than the average person to self-medicate with cannabis (and alcohol, and tobacco).

But really, the big thing is that the news media do a terrible job of reporting on science and medicine. And that's when it isn't a subject they can make hay out of, like cannabis legalization. Does leave one wondering what Op-Eds looked like around the time of the repeal of (alcohol) prohibition.

Personally I think it's good to be cleared eyed about this stuff. The media will spin stories that draw eyeballs. They need the money. At the same time, cannabis isn't always wholely positive for everyone. No reason not to be clear-eyed about it.
