oh man..i totally mistook ya sin..but all should not be good with him if this was intentional. i fear that some of us could be target by all the drama i heard about, but i dont know cause people left me in the dark about it. something about pistils and haters.. but whatever, i luv rez gear and seedbay so i try to protect a good thing. btw..i got a portscan by icmag..ummm.hello..im on your side..and i noticed the site was down about 10 minutes ago..only for 1 minute tho...maybe the admins here on IC are battleing more attacks then we know about. how would we know..thats why its good to stay informed.

anyone who downloads an .exe file from anyone on this site is insane....seems kinda sly of him though....its just like aim..people try to share files(virus) or post links (PHISH). but people just arent that stupid anymore.

after chatting with acidistic in PM it seems he is no harm- it is not his fault that a good amount of free trial type software on the net is rigged with virus. Web defacement is on the rise which makes a small unheard of site or company an easy target. its just not a good idea in general to click links other than the ones that redirect to ICmag pages.

Just a quickie question.

if using a proxy server or any IP blocking program/script and you click the link, the IP given should be of the proxy server shouldnt it? So whats the harm unless you download a virus which you shouldnt if running AV SW

lol mac is good to. never said a linux system could not get a virus just the chances are a lot smaller than a widow base system. and most virus are for the widows system back in nov i got 30 virus on my widows system all VB scrip files that the anti virus program could not remove , i when into safe mode and could not delete the dam files but i found the virus writer screen name his name was sorry ass coder the virus bypass my firewall and all my anit virus programs only way i got rid of it was to reformatte the hard drive and install linux and since then i been virus free

I thought I had one of those too because the virus installed a rootkit and latched itself onto winlogon.exe [ a system program needed even in safe mode. ]

I searched around long enough and found a program that got rid of it by suspending the process in memory and deleting the rootkit. Without finding the program there would have been no easy way to remove it.

It also depends on what operating system has the best exploits at the time. For a while back a few years hackers box of choice was webservers running linux. Now a days viruses are the least of the worries as malware/spyware have taken over as bigger threats. Not sure how well linux handles those since they are less operating system specific and more what programs youre running.

well so far i have been malware/spyware free i cant say that for my wins xp thats anouter reson i did a way with windows got tired of the dam virus malware and spyware and having to pay money for a slow os. and i hear now vista is only good for 2 install now. man what a rip. sweet thing about linux its free so are 90% of the programs and after a update you dont have to re boot and its hard for a virus to do much damage because any thing that will damage the system is pass word procted. same with spy ware no way it can work it has to have amin privileges and a pass word to intall. and even if it did some how install it self with a program it would only work under my user name and i only install programs from the unbuntu linux repositories wich are virus and spyware free
