Have a new grow set up at my new location and just realized I have a pretty ruff light leak. The light leak has been repaired, the plants are starting week 2 of flower or (switch from 12/12). Half are starting to grow sacks. Not a lot but maybe 3 or 4 each plant. Usually I cut them down and throw them away but I have never had this many hermies in one grow and cannot afford to throw them out.

How well does ethephon products such as DM Reverse (I know has been discontinued), optic foliar switch and monterey florel work? Thinking about going with the Florel.

Pros? Cons? Anything in particular I should Know? I have read about great results and few with no results at all.

Bump...

Does anyone have experience with these products? Need advice asap if so.

Ethephon will definitely help put them back on track. Since the light leak happened in early early flower and you fixed the problem they should get back on track without it.

One thing l always do when l see some sacks, is foliar with some snow storm ultra. It sterilizes the pollen.

Thanks BubbaBear... Now that you mentioned it, it does seem like they have stopped production of male sacks since I had removed them. I am still keeping a close eye though and inspect bottom to top every night during lights on.

I did find one sack tonight that maybe I could have over looked or had just popped up since last night.

I reckon water alone sterilizes pollen period or more so just "deactivates" it. Since the night I had discovered the balls I have been misting over the room and plants with a sprayer to minimize the spread of pollen and also have shut down the oscillating fan as well which is okay since I don't have buds developed yet, until I make for sure this problem is under control it will also help keep the pollen from spreading. I get plenty of fresh air return as of now with 2 440cfm inline fans.

Maybe I will go ahead and order the product to keep on hand in case they continue to produce pollen sacks.

Thanks bro!

Using Switch right now. I emailed optic foliar for specific instructions, see attached. Hope you can read it.

FOLIAR FEED CHART
SWITCH
Immediate transition into bloom, use day 1 of flower Enables flowering & oil production
Prevents unwanted flowers Accelerates flowering

Light mist only Light mist only
Use within 20 minutes
Use within 20 minutes of adding TRANSPORT
Use on Days 1 & 10 or
later if needed.
special instructions below & reverse

SWITCH SPECIAL USAGE NOTES:
● Reduce nutrients by 50 % prior to spraying, and day after spraying. If your schedule is for water, then continue with water.
● Spray in temperatures between 60-75 degrees, Lights on or off, spraying in the correct temperatures assists in performance.
● With SWITCH specifically, less is more. A lighter spray will works better than drenching the plant. No need to spray the undersides.
● Spray on day 1 & 10 of Flower for immediate flower transition and crop protection. Or use in mid to late flower for crop correction.
After applying SWITCH, customers may notice: a. A white bleaching/spotting
b. A yellow spotting
c. Or a wrinkled looking leaf
Dozens of variables can cause visual and non visual damage to plants, and in turn stress. Increased stress and factors involving stress can lead to the production of Ethylene gas within the leaves. Experiencing any of the above is from the production of Ethylene gas. Multiple growing variables including some out of the control of the grower can lead to increased Ethylene gas production within the leaves. In low levels it can burn o and not make any visual marks, however in higher levels including after spraying SWITCH, the visual marks left behind are a result of higher concentrations of Ethylene leaving the plant. This tells us the product has worked, however it will not reduce or alter growth, flower, photosynthesis, nutrient uptake or overall plant health.
1. For each liter of SWITCH, add 10 ml of TRANSPORT Directly into 1 liter of SWITCH, shake then spray.
2. Spray plants, 2 applications, 10 days apart only.
3. Will only keep a female plant female. It will not turn a male to a female
4. Mix only what is needed, once you add TRANSPORT, the product is activated and will be good for 20 minutes only. 5. After 20 minutes the solution will no longer work after being mixed.
6. Do not substitute TRANSPORT with other products.

So you don't add water?

Just add Transport to switch and spray?

Optic Foliar does not do a good job of giving clear instructions. You should see the directions on the bottle of Atak!

Correct, add 10ml transport to 1L of switch and go at it. First time I sprayed at beginning of lights on and turned dehu’s off to keep temp low, this time I sprayed right before lights off and turned dehu’s back on after I was done spraying, before the lights turned off. I applied 7.5days apart but I didn’t do my first app til day 32 or something like that (3-4days after I first saw nanners). Idk.. I found a couple undeveloped seeds the other day, but I think they were starting before I ever sprayed. We’ll see what happens.. still throwing nanners however I do see a good bit that are brown, dead and looked like they never opened so that’s a good sign. By the way, I got very little burn from the application, few little spots here and there but nothing horrible at all. Definitely make sure your temps are under 75, as I understand it this is of utmost importance. I’ll try to remember to report back after harvest.

You bet. I’m in the same boat.. literally.. just a few weeks ahead. Can’t afford to lose the harvest and of course the strain that herm’d is 75% of the room.. d’oh. I’ve heard switch can take a week or so off of harvest time from a few different people which in my case would be awesome. I’ve never been so excited to hack plants down and start fresh lol. Really hoping I don’t get many seeds.. it’s gonna kill the pocketbook ;(.

Don’t think it did a damn thing, hopefully you have better results, but I doubt it. Nanners kept popping up all through the rest of the cycle, and ended with plenty of mature beans.
