I think seedbay is a great thing. I think more people should offer there home breeding projects up for auction......even if some like to throw the word hack around!

It would be very interesting to see how much or little the smallest of home breeding could bring in on an auction.

I'd be more than happy to take the %60 percent out of a "hack" auction.

I'd pay a pretty penny for a hack breed of some Mr. Kush!!!! G13xHPxHinduKush!!!!

Sometimes I loose love for this community with all the tight....mmm....ego's claiming to be an authority on a hobby such has ours.

I'd like to see some more home hack jobs taking the reigns.....spin the gene pools out into the galaxies!!!

What people are willing to pay is what they are willing to pay. It is their own business. If the bidding exceeds what you are willing to pay for a certain strain then "tough nuggies" as the saying goes. There is a ton of decent genetics out there at reasonable prices.

one thing is for sure and I bet everyone here does the same..when I buy an expensive pack of seeds my expectations of the strain are high and I treat them differently, I really make sure they get the full A grade treatment in the garden....warm, wet tissue germination, new soil, new soil conditioners, clean pots, started indoors, pampered and looked after!...whereas seeds from bag seed or my own crosses get thrown in pots, I hope for the best and the strong survive..

interesting points made here. my take is that those seeds should have gone up at a buy it now price... that is just my opinion though. would have been fair, the hype definately sells shit. sucks eh? but sadly it's the case 99% of the time.

I think people that pay that much aren't suckers. They can always make theier own seeds and probably charge some1 else top dollar for their finished product. Don't think 4 1 minute that some of those people don't sell that kush to others. In the end they will make what they paid from 2 ozs. If it was so over hyped then no 1 would buy it. I just bought a pack of rez sour diesel ibl and im sure it will be worth every penny. if i only get 1 female then i will make some more. i've read some people saying their not an ilb fact is good weed is good weed i don't care if it an ibl,fox, abc, or xyz. I wouldn't pay 900 for some beans unless it's the best out there and no1 else has it. If i did pay that much i wouldn't share. Like the saying goes, You didn't put in on this man. But what the hell do i know im new to growing.

Unless there's several packs of the strain available, buy it now isnt fair for "everyone" neither. One person sees em and they're gone. The auction is the fairest thing available - especially for limited items. Everybody has a chance til the end

hey I am the the member that started this thread and just wanted to let everyone know
that if you are a smart shopper (just like in life) I never buy anything at FULL PRICE i refuse.. I rather wait a bit and get a good deal..Its all about whether or NOT you are willing to pay for what you WANT NOW..If you are patient A DEAL will arise example

I just grabbed a pack of BIKO from annaC seeds for 30 bucks thats a ECSDv3 cross for 30$ and what is the IBL going for now 4times that
So my 2cents be patient and you will eventually get what you want OR get ripped and pay full price for being the "first one on the block"

i won't pay over 200 but that's just me. there's some strains i want and dealers rip you off charging high ass prices. i was tired of getting ripped off paying 350+, so paying 200 and getting as much as i want compared to making dealers rich. The breeders aren't to blame it's the dealers. Their shouldn't be a cap, just don't buy it!

And Gyspy you are 100% correct about seeds cost are what people are willing to pay for them.

Every person i have seen that has posted that they grew and smoked the "real Deal" and the S1's said they are not the same. They are similiar but deff not the same. I heard from more then one person that the guy with calikush was sketchy at best. Ograskal?

That's the whole reason more people should do more grow/smoke reports...
Imho, the more information you have available on a seedline, and the more different examples of seeing them grown out, the more informed and intelligent seed purchases can be.
If 25% of those I send free seeds to would document their grows, there would be more than enough documented info to make informed purchases...

Just the same as in any business, I wouldn't buy a car that there was no info available on... just because the car had a popular name...

I won't buy much, before reading consumer report's ratings... Bought too many things through mail order that did not perform to description...

For a thousand dollars, i would fly to cali for a weekend for 300.. find a med user through craigslist, meet up and drive them to various clubs and have them search the clone stock for OG.. for all their work, pay for their meds... And then ship the clones to my safe address.. And spend the night partying cali style for the days im there..
