So Quick has mentionned in one of his post that 5 ml of floranova gave him a ppm reading of 800 so how is 8 ml going to end up with
n 124
p 108
k 180
Mg 62?????

I've used the Lucas Formula with FloraNova Bloom in both actual soil, DWC, and am currently using it in soil-less coco. I've never used any media amendments when using this formula.

It seems by doing so you risk putting yourself in an emergency transplant situation if something goes wrong, instead of just being able to adjust your formula.

The way I've used it is to start at 5ml/gal when they're very young, quickly moving up to a full strength 8ml/gal. Once I get within about a week of moving them into flower, I step them up to 10ml/gal. They stay there for the last week of veg through the first week of bloom. Then I bump up to the full bloom level of the formula, 16ml/gal.

You can check my thread, I just bumped all my seedlings up to 8ml/gal, and the difference in growth rate is enormous.

is this considered lucas formula?? 16ml a gallon is about 2000ppm correct? that seems very hot to me. have you had any problems with burn like this?

my plants are bitches they burned my last grow

cause coco already has alot of K, so im gonna take it easy on the PK

That's the Lucas Formula using FloraNova Bloom @ 8ml/gal veg, 16ml/gal flower under HID (fluoros or other low-intensity light, 5ml/10ml)

Never had any burn problems, used it on all kinds of strains.

Check my thread for picks from yesterday. They're all on 8ml/gal. Nothing but tap water and FNB. Well, a little Hydroguard too. And Molasses during flower. :D

I'll give you guys a pic from today to compare to later tonight. The difference is noticeable.

Usually at every watering. Occasionally I might just go plain tap water, depends on what I feel they need. Usually every watering though. Think about it this way, coco/perlite is at it's core, hydro.

Since the coco retains 'just enough' moisture, and gets plenty of drainage, then by watering with nutes every watering, you could draw the parallel to a DWC system, which everyone is familiar with. DWC keeps the roots in nute solution constantly without burn. This isn't any different, assuming you're mix is draining sufficiently.

Keep in mind here, I'm talking about in my current mix, coco cut very generously with perlite. I usually water until enough runoff runs out the bottom to cover the drainage holes. This gives the coco a source to wick up as the plant absorbs the nute solution. Every day I go down, that's been wicked up, which tells me the plants are drawing continuously on the nute supply. If they want it, why not give it to 'em?

Now, as far as ProMix, I dunno, never used it. Now, in soil, I usually water every other with nutes, because the soil retains the nutes, and plain water brings those nutes out for the plant.

They look happy to me :D

The one in the back that looks sad had already gone through her water for the day. It'll be transplanted into a 1 gal pot tonight or tomorrow.

Not a soil guy.... but sure a proponent of the Lucas formula.
Remember that for hydro its based on RO water.

Micro ALWAYS goes in first.

Veg formula
0ml per res gallon of Grow
5ml per res gallon of Micro
10ml per res gallon of Micro

You should end up with a starting res Ph of right at 5.2 for either veg or bloom.

Bloom formula
0ml per res gallon of Grow
8ml per res gallon of Micro
16ml per res gallon of Bloom

A properly mixed Bloom res will have a TDS of ~1330

Hope that helps.

^That's ELEMENTAL ppm. Has nothing to do with meter ppm.
If you try and reconcile elemntal ppm and meter ppm you will surely go insane.
How do I know(?), cause I'm insane.

Yes, if your growing an incredibly short lifed plant like MJ within 6 months.
Some of us have houseplants growing in promix for over 10 years. Try adding 16 ml/gal for over 10 years and see how your plants look.

Just saying it's akin to hydro for a very short time and then the CEC (cation exchange capacity) kicks in and it changes to something not even related to water culture.

I imagine that at that point, it'd be time for a good flush. Maybe even a medium exchange
